Nice catch Bruce. It must be nice to have the summer off.

Nice, good to see a decent fish at holiday.... I fished there the other night until like 1 in the morning. Came up with a bunch of dinks, no size.

Try sinking a 12 inch worm at the cuts out at 3 Pines. I used to kill the big fish out there when conditions were as they are.

Was out there yesterday and pretty much had the same experience as the first post. Got a call from a buddy who spun his hub at the weir so ran down there to tow him back. Long haul back at 5.5 mph. Be careful down there!

Those fish sure don't get the summer off, with Bruce out there slaying em every day.

Keep posting those picture guys. I'm still stuck in China, jealous as (heck).

The weir is out past cut 5. If you see the little platform on the left with the water gauge, you are there but dont come down off plane there or someone will be towing you back to Holiday. When you are there, stay in the middle. The weir is most effective when there is current on the L67 but it will almost always hold some fish. However, everybody knows this and any serious tournament has 3-5 boats in the area so it is best not to make it your Plan A

Yeesh. You've been in China more than here it seems. My brother just got back from Qingdao and Beijing about a week and a half ago. There was a big boat festival in Qingdao that we had some stuff to do. He said it was absolutely ridiculous how many people were there this time. The airports were slammed.

I've been talking to Mike (Mikeyballzfishing) a little bit by email. He fished Luke's open as well, finishing 2nd with right around 27lbs.

I talked to him for about a half hour out there at the park the day before I left to China...I figured he would do pretty well. He was on some good fish.

My wife would agree with this sentiment. This was trip #22 to China for me. Beijing and Tianjin for me. Qingdao is where they make the beer...I know the place well.

I went to Holiday Park this morning. Not a ton of fish (~15) but good size. One 5, one 4, and a couple 2.5s. Lost two toads as well. One of them would have been my biggest this year...in the 7-8lb range. Frogs and BigEz early, flipping 1oz tungsten & space monkey and 3/8 oz jig later.

Water is pushing down pretty good from N to S down L67. I went into Miami Canal to check out those small cuts to Marsh Area #1 and the water is gushing into there. It looks like I could just about make it into MA1 from L67, but I didn't want to risk it with a storm coming in. A couple more days and I might give it a go.

Nice catch! How you stand the heat, I don't know, guess a few hogs go a long way ;)
