The reason the "hate" started up so bad when he left the Cavs is the way he handled it. While in Cleveland he led the team, got his MVP awards at his old school, just doing things around in his hometown community. Then turned his back on them like he believes he was better then all of them.

I don't think athletes should get a break because they are a 26 year old "kid". He is an adult and plenty old enough to handle himself properly. If you can't handle situations don't put yourself in them. He cannot expect to be paid millions of dollars, be the face of many advertisements, and the face of the league itself in some ways then not be responsible for his actions because he is a "kid". Heck, I am trying to teach my 13yr old daughter about being responsible for you own actions, but a 26yr old doesn't have to??

We can only hope that he has people around him who can get thru to him and make him realize what he is doing to his image. He is a great player and will most likely get a ring or two during his time but if all people remember are the childish behavior and I am better then everyone else attitude he won't get the credit for his skill/hard work to achieve them.

Have you looked at the stat sheet? Mavs have been shooting well for a long time.

It was only because we couldn't hit an open shot for the first three games that we didn't win in Dallas.

LeBron gets way too much criticism from everywhere he looks. How would you react if you were in his shoes. If everywhere you looked, the entire country was telling you how "not clutch" you are or how you have "given up" on the team. LeBron CARRIED that team to the NBA finals, just as he did in Cleveland. In my opinion, LeBron is by far the most talented (not best) basketball player in the league, and would be a top five player in any sane persons mind. Nowitzki misses a game winner...nothing...Lebron gets a triple double...criticism. I dont understand it. Lebron's "legacy" changes every time he touches the ball. If he misses a shot or gets a TO, his legacy is "ruined", but if he makes a play, he is the next MJ. Why cant we all just watch basketball and let his dang "legacy" play out. I garuntee he will win multiple rings and before it is all said and done, he will considered one of the best to ever play the game.

People put too much emphasis on the finals. Its just another game. If youve ever played ball before you know that you may be nervious before a game, but when the ball is tipped, you just play ball. He had a bad series, but that shouldnt be the face of his season. He single handedly beat the bulls in the 4th quarter all series long. All the hype about him choking is ridiculos. His time just hasnt came yet, but it will.

I will not completely defend his "Decision", because it was ridiculos how it was blown up to be a huge thing, but even that was not completely LeBron, but instead was PA's and the media. But, he was in a loose loose situation. Stay in Cleveland and be called "money hungry", having no heart to win and only wanting more money, or go to Miami, and be considered "soft" and cant win on his own. He took a pay cut for the opportunity to win and I respect that.

P.S. Im indifferent about LeBron. Not a huge fan, but not a hater. I have no reason to cheer for the heat besides the fact that they are freakin good!

Now before you go telling somebody to look at a stat sheet, perhaps you should do the same before smashing LeBron so much. You can VERY easily make the argument that Wade "quit" (not that I think either of them did), not LeBron. Statistically, James played far better during the series. For some reason though the entire blame is being placed on him. I'm not asking anybody to change their opinions, you're more than entitled to them. At least base that opinion on something substantial instead of just what the media has selected to tell you. Thats partially why I posted the link I did in a previous post, besides the fact that it's a good read. LeBron had one of the best overall single seasons that we've seen in a long time, yet if you listen to the watercooler talk and the media, you'd instantly guess that he did absolutely nothing during the year.

It's just ridiculous. The Decision wasn't his idea. He gets slammed for it. We might as well slam him for all the money and equipment that got donated to needy children as well. I mean that was part of the big evil Decision. If he stays at home, he gets killed for being the typical money hungry professional athlete. He leaves, and does what the public has been begging an athlete to do for a while (take less money to try and win), he gets absolutely murdered.

The simple fact of the matter is he's screwed no matter what he does. He could quit playing basketball, donate every dime he has to some charity, and be done with it, and public opinion won't change. He'd still get killed for doing that.

Most people would probably lose it after being scrutinized so much for an entire year. Getting constantly harassed no matter what. The guy deserves some credit for handling everything he's had to.

Now I understand that this is not his fault, he has the natural talent and he is using it to his benefit, but I think it's unfortunate that he doesn't have a mature enough figure in his life to help mentor him, as he is still very young. I believe he chose Miami for a number of reasons, a couple being a chance to play with his buddy, Wade, a great place to party, and a better atmosphere for endorsements, thus making up the money he left on the table in Cleveland. Oh yeah, and a chance to win. None of this is terrible, it actually would be a dream for most people, but add in his petulance and immaturity, and we have people treating him the way we do.

I agree....and will also say,the fans need to take a good long hard look at themselves before they criticize somebody else. I'm just saying....

To me Lebron left for a better opportunity.Call it wrong,disgrace or whatever.But if it was me and a better job opportunity arises I'm gonna leave my job and take it as well.Is that really wrong?

Lol. I think some people just spun it out of control. It really not that complex of a situation. I personally don't think his endorsement would have changed either way. The entire country knows who LeBron James is regardless of who he playing for...He left Cleveland for a chance to be on a team that was more serious about putting more players on the court around him. Plain and simple. Sometimes too much talents on same team doesn't always win a championship. See some very talent football teams for this statement. They just flat out got outworked by the Maverick. I'm not staying LeBron quit, but Jason Kidd is 38 years old and was grabbing every loose ball on that court. I think people expect too much from one person. Michael Jordan had help, Kobe Bryant had help, Dwanye Wade had help in 2006. Not saying LeBron didn't have help on the Heats, but it didn't exactly show that he had help. I saw a lot of missed shots by players who name isn't Wade, Bosh, or James. Even saw some turnovers and poor decision making by the entire team where the Mavericks were making the best decisions and the best plays at the right time. Not to mention Heats had a total meltdown allowing the Mavericks to comeback numerous of times and the Heats couldn't pressure the Maverick into losing their poise.

If you think LeBron quit that's fine. I cannot change your opinion, but I highly doubt he did and the jokes are just being made by secret lovers until he starts winning some rings.

P.S. Less we forget that LeBron James was on that 2008 Olympic team that won the gold...

Then I guess Miami fans should really get mad about all the very questionable rebounding fouls that went against Miami during the Dallas part of the series in game 4, come on its sophomoric to think that! The Heat lost because they were beat by a better team and the Mavs lost in 06 for the same reason, sounds like you held on to your hate for far too long brother!

As far as all the Lebron haters who the heck cares, unless some NBA player cares about where you choose to work should you care about who they play for. Those of you who argue that he turned his back on his home town, then I guess any professional player that turns his back on his home town by playing ball somewhere is to be hated, grow up people. Nevertheless, I just bought a new Lebron theme ringtone for my phone, it doesn't ring it only vibrates!

Just out of curiosity, what are Miami fans going through right now? I mean I'm a serious sports nut, but uh....yeah, nothing wrong here. Would it have been cool to win? Sure. They didn't. Life goes on.

I got what I paid for when I bought my tickets this year. Entertainment. The Heat were the most exciting team to watch in Basketball this year. Looking forward to next season.

The only thing I'm sad about right now is the lack of sports on TV each evening. Between the NBA and NHL playoffs, the last couple of weeks have been great.

Crying shame I can't say the same for the Dolphins....

I enjoyed the ride on the Heat band wagon all season long.The team has had its ups and downs, but this season was above expectations. The Heat will improve and challenge again next season. No sad feelings about the series loss. The Mavs out played them and deserved to win. LeBron did what he wanted to do by leaving Cleveland to win a championship. He came up short and his performances were poor at the end of the games. He knows that. The team will be improved next season, looking forward to many more seasons of Heat NBA playoffs.
