If they are pulling water go with crankbaits on the points. I haven't been there in awhile so I'm not sure of the color, but any shad color generally is good. They will be up shallow in the morning, and I bet you will be able to pull a limit from flipping the brush up shallow all day. The better fish will be deeper on flats. Also, if you're going to use jigs black and blue is NOT working this year. Brown with GP or straight GP jigs this year. Apparently we did a little too well with black and blue last year on that lake. That's about all I've got.

434.738.6371 ext 275 - call this number to find the water depth.

300 is normal. 303 to 304 means water is in the bushes.

You have to be more specific with your queery:

1. Where are you putting in.

2. Boater or nonboater.

3. Dates of tournament.

Kerr is a large body of water. We need to know where you will be putting in to help you hit the early AM topwater bite and then give you some suggestions for the rest of the day.

Use your GPS to manuever around the lake and know how to return to your ramp. I am not kidding. When you prefish Kerr you will see how big the lake is and how easy it is to get misoriented. :)

It's only a big lake if you make it that way. It doesn't make much difference where you fish as long as you take a 15-30 minute boat ride the first thing in the morning. On multi-tournament days guys pass each other going to where the other just left.

Cool!!

I think I am going down there with a lot of jigging in mind, A couple of friends I have, Had fished there several times and they say it's a great way to land some monsters but as suicidenemisis stated I am going to take the blue/black with me but I am going to take him up on his GP suggestion.

The lake is so big from what I hear though I just don't know where to start but I guess I will put in and start from there lol.

Let us know how you did.

Good luck and be safe!!!
