Hey all! I have a small club tourney at lake erie this weekend. I have never fished Erie before so I am excited to get the chance. I will be taking my 15' Procraft bass boat with a 40hp motor on it.. I am not planning on venturing out into the lake so I plan on only fishing the bay and the area out of the shoots.

Does anyone have any pointers for this time or year at Erie? any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

Find the weeds and you can find Largemouths in the bay. The small bays off the main bay and around the marinas are your best bet. Smallies may still be on the flats but walls and drop offs may be the areas to find them. Don't count out fishing the lake. If it's calm search for structure (rocks, depth changes)in the 15-20 feet range. I fish them with my 16' 40hp all the time.

I will be fishing the bay Sunday and Monday the weather looks like it should be great for both in and out of the Bay.

Good Luck,

Gary

How did your club turney go? My dad was at PIB and said there were many boats in and out of the bay. I was up this past weekend and did well on the north wall and the flat near Perrys monument.

tourney went well. i finished 3rd in my club.. had 3 fish for 7.47lbs.. biggest was a 3.5 smallie i got with 20 minutes left.. caught it on the flat by perrys monument and the others were on the left side of the shoots heading out into the lake..
