I do use the Zoom and Rage, I also do like the looks of that Sizmic but have not tried it yet. I have one or the other tied on one of my rods at all times and do pick it up a few times threw out the day, but really 90 percent of my frog fishing is of the hollow type. Not that I don't think the toads will work as well, I just prefer the Hollow Scum Spro for I can change up how I work it much more so then a toad and I personally can skip the hollow frogs way better then I can a toad, getting it into places I can't with the toad.

There is however a couple times in which I pick up the toad rod first and that's when either night fishing or if there really smashing the toad early in the mourning. It also is a good choice when there's a good chop on the water, but the Spro does pretty dang well in the waves also. Nothing at all wrong with the toads, just for me I can do a heck of a lot more damage with the frogs simply because I can do a lot more different things with them them.

BTW: I have used the Space Monkey like a toad also and that thing can be killer at times also. In fact that thing looks so alive in the water I would not be surprised  at all if a few state records will be broke with the Monkey. Not just on top but anywhere in the water.

Furbit, how did you do on Delavan?  We had a bad tournament, the frog bite was far and few, I had two blow ups but they were small blow ups if that means anything! We did not place so that makes two bad days this year! :'( :'( :D;) >:) >:( >:(

The day started out good. We caught 6 nice largemouths in the 3 to 4lb range and two 3lb smallie's both on the Scum Frog Natural Black/Green color and Spro Popper Rain Forest Black color. For some reason I could not get them to hit the Leopard color Spro.

However, that was about in the first 2 hours there, after that we could not buy a bite. We even trying jigging from 10 to 20ft of water with no luck. Seen a lot of fish cruising, a couple of monsters at that, but just could not get the strikes, other then a few dinks, after the first couple hours.

Hey btw, whats the name of that lake that is on the left hand side of the road if your coming from Delevan to Geneva. is that Como? You can barely see it from the road, grrrrrrrr I can't think of the road name off the top of my head but its the main highway from Delevan to Lake Geneva. Man I can't believe I can't recall the name of the highway, it's 2pm and I think I need more coffee. LOL

Sorry to hear about the tourney. Them Wis lakes can be tricky. I never fished the lake your tourney was on but if its anything like Geneva or Delevan I know how it can go at times.

That would br HWY 50 and yes it is Como. Where were you fishing on Delavan?  Maybe we can change some info on good spots on Delavan!  I guide at night out there and last year I had a 7lb.4oz. and a guy I took out had a 7 lb two weeks apart.

Well I am no expert on Delavan, only fish it a few times a year and really do not know what all the areas are called but the first few came, well head out from the public launch and turn left and head to the shoreline off S. Shore Dr. From the first dock down to where the shoreline bends. Seawalls, docks and weeds between the docks is where we got the fish. It is also in this area where we tried the 10 ft to 20 ft deep water trying to stay just outside the heavy submerged weed lines. Hitting the edges with jigs. Although as you know one second your in 10ft of water then all the sudden your in 16ft only moving the boat a couple ft. So we did have some trouble staying on the edge, mostly because the Fish finder on the front of the boat was not working so who ever was on the back of the boat had to call out what was going on. Back seat driver so to speak.

Most of our catch however was the section of water past N.Shore Rd. Bridge area, where all the town homes are. North side past all the docks to the very back of that area. There are docks on the south side of this area, but the section we caught fish was just across from them where there are no docks. The waters only a ft or two deep in this area but the bass where either in the pockets in the weeds or buried right in the thick stuff right on shore. A lot of cruisers back in there and if you saw them they saw you and jetted out of site. Lots of bluegill beds back in there.

I would say most all the fish we caught where in no more then 2ft of water. We did get a couple skipping back under the docks but nothing to write home about. I am guessing if we would have spent more time in deeper water we would have caught more, but we really wanted to give the frogs a work out this time out. No body else out there was fishing as shallow as we where, in fact my partner said I bet these people out here think where from IL or something LOL, we are, but it was working for a time.

That is a pretty good drive for you from where you live! If you fish Delavan again I can send you to some real good spots and I would PM you the info. I would think the pads on the south west bay would be a good frog spot and the channel by the boat lanuch is great in the summer!

Nah, not to bad of a drive actually. I am only a few minutes from RT 47, just take that north and I am there in a little over 1 to 1 1/2 hr's as long as I leave before everyone else on the planet wakes up. Coming home is a different story with traffic and all but I kind of like the nice ride back with the a/c going in the truck to relax after being out in the sun all day.

As for the Pads, I suggested that very early on but my partner was being a stubborn donkey. He had one bad day of no fish there and trying to get him to agree to check it out again is like pulling teeth. Next time will take my boat and he won't have a choice.

Yes that area near the launch looks real good. We where planning on hitting that on the way out but ran out of time.

Should be back up there a couple times in mid July since the wife is heading south to visit her folks for a couple weeks. Any tips would be much appreciated.   :D
