Maneframe Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 Hey guys I have been trying fish with 4" powerbait tubes this year. Where I fish there is a lot of grass and structure and all plastics that I fish have to be weedless. I have tried T-Rigging them but just seem to have a hard time keeping the hook in them. Was wondering if you guys had any suggestions on how the best way to rig them weedless for example what size hook works best? Quote
Super User clayton86 Posted June 14, 2011 Super User Posted June 14, 2011 I started rigging them with yamamoto tube weights this year with a gamy ewg hook size dependent on the tube but there nice little weights and there cheap only downfall is it can be a pain on thick bodied tubes to find the hole in the weight to get the hook threw. http://www.***.com/Yamamoto_Snagfree_Tube_Weight/descpage-YSTW.html Quote

I am a little confused tho. How exactly do you rig those? Never seen them before. Quote
WanderLust Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 Use a spot remover or a weedless tube jig... The stupid rig is also very popular. If you want to T-rig you can use a small bass casting sinker and cut a slot in the top of the tube for a better hookup percentage. In light weeds, the weedless tube jig is the easiest and most effective for me. Search BR / youtube / Google for "tube rigging"; there is a ton of good information. Quote
Aj Nicholson Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 use a gammy glock hook or owner twistlocks they work best tex rigged for me. Quote
Super User grimlin Posted June 14, 2011 Super User Posted June 14, 2011 Skip gap hooks work pretty well holding tubes on T-rigged. Quote
Super User Jig Man Posted June 14, 2011 Super User Posted June 14, 2011 I sometimes use this method with an insert. Just make a slit in the bottom and stick the head inside. 3/0 hooks work best for me. The hook in the pic isn't imbedded. Just skin hook it. Quote

Super User clayton86 Posted June 14, 2011 Super User Posted June 14, 2011 The yamamoto weights just drop them in hole towards the head then hook it threw the hole tex style line tie will be in the tip of the tube when finished Quote
