just got into frog fishing and all i have is horny toads. I'd like to get a couple hollow body frogs that are weedless and durable. Im going to try and stay away from any more soft plastic frogs, my horny toads dont run right anyway. What are some of your guys favorite frogs to bring on top of the slop?

I know you said not plastic frogs bc they dont right and you are correct but check out the Bizz Baits pad daddy! Most realistic soft body frog and it always runs correctly! (belly down) It has a rounded belly and the way the hook slot is on the back it always stays belly down no matter what it hits! Hook ups for a topwater bait like this go through the roof bc your hook is always up correctly! you wont be disappointed ;)

As for hollow body, ive always used spro

Spro makes a good frog. My friend does well with scum frogs.

I bought a pack of the pad daddy frogs and I cannot wait to try them out. I have one rigged up and in my car, just waiting for the next time I go out.

Hollow body frogs, like the scum frogs. I throw them in some of the thickest slop and they work great. They are really soft and my hook up ratio soared one I started using these.

I use Spro's mainly, but a good frog/toad that does run true is the Ragetail Toad, If rigged up properly.. B)

Another vote for Spro! The Scumfrogs are pretty good but I've had bad luck with the tails gumming up after one season of use. You might try a different hook with your horny toads. I use 4/0 gamakatsu EWG superline hooks that basically act like a keel and don't have any problem with rollovers.

I prefer the Spro.

There is a good video on here of Big-O explaining how to rig the Rage Toad if you want a soft bodied frog that will run like it's supposed to.

anybody ever try koppers frogs?

I will tell you that they are very soft and you will get super hook-ups....They are the softest out of the box out there. I have spro also, but try a koppers you will not go back.

how do they hold up? they look super realistic.

Spro and snag proof are the two I use and have no complaints about either. As far as a plastic frog try using Stanley ribbits or Rage toads. Also you could try using a beefier hook this may help your frog run true. I use Stanleys double take hooks they have weighted and non-weighted hooks. The non weighted hooks are still pretty heavy.

I have had no problems with them at all.....just super hook ups.

Snag Proof Phat Frog (My favorite go-to frog)

Snag Proof Bobby's Perfect Frog

Spro Bronzeye 65

Can't go wrong with either of these three.

Started off with Spro and know really like Snag Proof. The Bobby's Perfect Frog and Ish's Phat Frog are now in my box. The Snag Proofs don't take on water and sink and I have found have a good hook up ratio. I think the Koppers frog is decent, they look great but in reality that's not what is really attracting the bass. As for plastic frogs the Rage Toad is hands down my favorite.

One thing I've noticed with the Koppers is that I find hardly any water is ever in the frog. I have to empty it much less than the Spro. I like both companies though and always have 3 frogs with me (yellow koppers, green spro, and black popping spro).

Since I've tried out the Scum Frog Trophy Series I leave my Spros and other frogs at home.

So much softer than the Spro.

I can cast it a mile.

Love how the back end sits below the water.

Eyes start to peel off after a few fish. A little glue remedies this.

Spro and Scumfrog are what I use.

I will be trying to Koppers soon, love how they look.

I like the Bronze-Eye, Perfect Frog and Boze ZZ Walker, but have grown weary of wringing water out of hollow frogs

Today I mostly use the Stanley Floating Ribbit, which is a solid toad, not a hollow frog.

If you want the Ribbit to stay afloat at rest, be sure to specify "Floating" ribbit.

Snag Proof Phat Frog

Snag Proof Bobby's Perfect Frog

Scum Frog Trophy.

Ish's is my favorite. Never takes on water and is the easiest to walk the dog.

I have two spro bronzeye frogs onre regular size and one jr.I have had my bronzeye frog in my 3600 tackle box and somehow the little frog legs tentacles stick to the plastic box for some reason and for that reason they are not that great for storing.

i bought a bronzeye. my local shop didn't have koppers, but they did have scum frogs.
