Shad_Master Posted June 12, 2011 Posted June 12, 2011 Our small club has an optional buyin for tournaments. $5 for big stringer and $5 for big bass. The big stringer pays out 1st, 2nd & 3rd place - while the Big Bass is a winner take all. We usually average 8 to 14 boats and the payouts range from 3rd place $5 (get your money back) to $35 for 1st place. While Big Bass can range from $35 to $70. My argument has been that it is harder to put together a winning stringer than it is to land a big fish (just one lucky cast) and so the stringer should pay more. How do other clubs handle this type of thing? Quote

How do other clubs handle this type of thing? The last club I fished with floated around 25-30 boats and had entry fees of $50 and $5 B/Bass. If you wanted the same ratio, your club's BB fee would have to be Fifty Cents! Quote

If you wanted the same ratio, your club's BB fee would have to be Fifty Cents! x2.... generally the entry fee is considerably higher than the big bass fee. For some of our smaller club tournaments (the 8 hour ones) its $60 entry fee plus $10 for big bass (per boat, so divided by two for two anglers). A 1:1 ratio for entry and bigbass is pretty far off of the normal... but still fun I suppose. Quote
Super User Sam Posted June 27, 2011 Super User Posted June 27, 2011 $10 in the pot for largest bag. $5 in the pot for Big Fish. Pay 1st, 2nd, 3rd and Big Fish. All Club pots are optional and the Club does not receive any income off the tournament. Our B.A.S.S. Region tournaments have the Region taking 20% off the top and then paying 1st, 2nd, 3rd and Big Fish with the balance. Quote
Bass_Fanatic Posted July 1, 2011 Posted July 1, 2011 We pay $15 for big stringer and $5 for Big Bass. Its easy, just a $20 bill to enter both pots. Quote
