I have been currently throwing a lot of the 7" Berkely power worm in a few various colors with pretty good success. I love the action of the worm. I fish it by either weightless/weedless, or texas rig it with a very small bullet weight like a 1/16 oz. I simply cast and reel it straight back to the boat varying speeds. I was just wondering what are some others favorite ways to rig, and fish the powerworm? Or if anyone just has some suggestions for me? Thanks.

I like to texas rig it with a 1/16 or 1/8 ounce bullet weight and instead of just reeling it in bounce it off the bottom or swim it(move your rod tip up and down like you pulling it off the bottom but dont actualy let it touch the bottom). Fishing it slower will help you catch more fish and bigger fish :D

Take the 10" version, and rig it drop shot style on your flipping stick, using 4/0 EWG hook and 3/4 oz. weight.  Toss in pads, feel bite, set hook, reel in lunker :D

On the opposite end, I used the 4" version on a drop shot to catch bedding bass with great success this past week.

well i used to be big power worm fan, but they seem to only be able to catch 2 fish then they are torn up, some times i tear em up just fishing. try culprit worms, i like them much more better.

i think cause of the ''taste'' of powerbait , that the power worms have no equal !!! the bass just hold on ALOT longer than any other worm ive tried. that equates to better catchability  ;D

man i forgot about these gems! thats all i used to throw for bass with just a little split shot just above the hook and reel it straight in. im gonna have to get me some more 7 and 10" for some lunkers.

J Franco, i might have to try that out, thanks for the tip :D

I tried them, never caught a fish..so now I use the 7 and 10" ragetails instead, much better action too..

Sorry, didn't mean to rain on your parade.

texas rig with a 1/4 oz weight throw it out let it sink to the bottom...sometimes they hit it on the fall..if they dont...pull the bait up and let it fall again or drag it a little and let is sit a few seconds the repeat...those retrieves have worked for me...but that was soooo long ago lol....green pumpkin and redshad were always good colors

i also used to use 5/0 and 6/0 EWG hooks but i now use Owner 7/0 oversize worm hooks on the 10'' power worm and pretty much never lose a fish . these hooks are awesome !! and to get it down deeper i use a bullet weights screw in bullet weight in 1/8 or 3/16 , very lethal combo !!!!!

if your refering to the ''big show paddle worm'' , that's one im going to try soon , probably in the fall . seems like a bottom fishing worm, too much grass and vegatation this time of the year.

The 10 inch big show is a real mother but I was mostly referring to the regular ribbon tail style.

I like 7'' Powerworm, I probably caught well over 100 bass on them last year. They became my go to bait at my favorite pond. :D my.02

Take a 10 inch powerworm cut the head down about 2 inches. just big enough so you can rig it with a 4/0 ewg hook. gives you about a 8 inch worm with a much thicker presentation than a 7"inch worm. in black or watermelon red purple.

I have a lot of the 7" ones but never really use them! I use the 10" ones more often! They produce everything from dinks to hawgs for me! I simply T-Rig them on a 3/16oz weight and throw to targets!

never really fished weightless with a 7" power worm. i would go with the 10" but you could keep the 7" and 1/8oz bullet wieght and instead of variable speed reeling in, cast it out let it go to the bottom and reel the slack in the line to where it is tight with the rod and then pull the rod from and angle of 9 or 10 o'clock to 11 to almost 12 and bounce it a little bit as you move it. then tighten up the line each time you do this method and fish it slow and you will catch alot of big fish. you just have to be patient. oh and directly infront of you assume it is 9 o'clock and straight up is 12. this is my very productive method of using the power worm. hope it gives you an option
