moby bass Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 I agree there will be a lot going on, but one thing it won't be is the end of the world. I'll be getting the pool ready all the same. Quote
Super User Raul Posted June 16, 2011 Super User Posted June 16, 2011 Next person to say that to me gets a kick in the pants. Now I´m puzzled, how can you "feel" a 0,8 degree difference ? Quote
endless Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 My niece husband moved here in VA last summer from Louisiana, He says he hate our summer and can't stand the pollen. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted June 17, 2011 Super User Posted June 17, 2011 I don't think solar flares have much impact on day to day temperature changes. This time of year we get a little relief from thunderstorms, but otherwise the only variance is between hot and hotter. This week has been mild with highs only in the upper 90's. Next week summer arrives. Quote
Senkoman12 Posted June 17, 2011 Posted June 17, 2011 Were not used to that heat here in wny but it just goes with the saying we only have 2 seasons xmas and 4th of july its either cold or stupid hot. its like that everywhere in NY. 3ft of snow or 100* Quote
Super User clayton86 Posted June 17, 2011 Super User Posted June 17, 2011 That's one of the many many reasons I hate this state id move but the wife is to close to her family they all live on the same d**n road its annoying I wanna move to texas or south carolina Quote
Super User South FLA Posted June 18, 2011 Super User Posted June 18, 2011 I am down to two days of lawn watering, so my 2 acres of St.Augustine looks like its ready to be baled. Its so D--n hot the insects are fleeing the yard and trying to get in the house, rolly pollies everywhere! I am with Boca, the fishing can be pretty good, have been sneaking around at night fishing my favorite golf courses and catching quality chunks they are concentrated. The days are brutally hot, but the nights are sauna like still. Weekends are spent on the intracoastal water way pretending to be manatees around Peanut Island looking at high quality views, people and places to escape the heat. Rather deal with this though, than any WINTER up North, at least I can function, must be why Lebron James, moved down here cause it wasn't to win NBA Championships...... Quote
Super User slonezp Posted June 18, 2011 Super User Posted June 18, 2011 Now I´m puzzled, how can you "feel" a 0,8 degree difference ? Those Canadians are very sensitive people. You see what happened after they "dropped the puck" Quote

JaxBasser Posted June 19, 2011 Posted June 19, 2011 It's brutal here in North FL. 100 degree temps and lungs full of swamp fire smoke as soon as you walk outside. I tried to fish in it and ended up passing out on the sidewalk and busting my head open. Should have drank more water. Quote

Super User Root beer Posted June 22, 2011 Super User Posted June 22, 2011 It been storming or raining every week at least once since April. I cannot remember if we even went a week without a drop of rain. The storms have been pounding us recently. Monday morning at 4am I got woke up by a heavy storm and couldn't go back to sleep. Quote

Super User SoFlaBassAddict Posted June 22, 2011 Super User Posted June 22, 2011 Went out today for about five hours and felt gassed afterwards. Good thing I stayed hydrated otherwise it could have been ugly. It's going to be a downright hot summer..... Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted June 22, 2011 BassResource.com Administrator Posted June 22, 2011 We've had the wettest, coldest spring in over 60 years here. We broke pretty much all the rain and low-temp records. Today, we finally got up over 70' and the sun actually showed up. It was the warmest day of the year. But that was a fleeting moment. We're back to rain and low 60's later this week. It's been a horrible, wet, dark, cold spring. We're about 2 1/2 months behind in seasons right now. Quote
Super User Root beer Posted June 22, 2011 Super User Posted June 22, 2011 I wish I could send some rain to you guys in Florida. The storm left a huge sinkhole here on the main highway. The creeks at a local state parks are flooding too. It raining here! Quote
Super User Sam Posted June 22, 2011 Super User Posted June 22, 2011 Taking another whack at this post. J, it was soooo hot on the Rappahannock River this past Saturday that the plastics burned our hand when we put them on the hooks. The guys were exhausted after the tournament. Hope the temperatures get cooler as we approach the end of July for our two day tournament on the Chickahominy River. Quote
Super User SirSnookalot Posted June 22, 2011 Super User Posted June 22, 2011 I always thought Michigan was humid until I lived in Florida during the summer. We don't get the heat down here like we had in Michigan, I don't think in the last 6 years it's ever been over a 100 degrees, but the humidity makes it feel way hotter than it did up north. Another factor down here is the intensity of the sun, and we don't get a break from June thru September. I can handle it, but what I can't handle are the d**n gnats and no seeeums, glad to say offshore there are seldom any insects. Quote

It's work, but the payoff can be big, big fish. The net below is 24" wide, for reference: Quote
Super User clayton86 Posted June 22, 2011 Super User Posted June 22, 2011 Yeah it gets brutal up here in the winter for the steelhead run and salmon cold driving rain/sleet and snow the rest of the time. Much of why I stoped steelie fishing not that sitting in a open field with a rifle and coyote call are much better with the wind blowing in your face new york sucks. Quote
