Okay guys, I want another spinnerbait rod. My question is in regard to stiffness. I've had some rods that were just too stiff for this technique but a couple that haven't....

The Skeet Reese Spinnerbait worm had the kind of bend that I liked, the GLoomis 6'3 Spinnerbait rod did, etc.

Now I'm using a 7' MH XPS Extreme rod from Bass Pro. This rod has a lot of flex but is rated for 3/8-1 1/2 oz lures and it's been perfect for accuracy even with lighter spinnerbaits........I really like the rod but I want a nicer rod that is technique specific and at least 6' 10. I don't want to spend more than $120-$130 new or used.....

Any suggestions on a rod that has that kind of flex that will allow me to cast lighter to heavy spinnerbaits and buzzbaits?

I may spend more but I doubt it. I don't want what I had before and I don't want a stiff rod....

Why? That BPS extreme rod works perfect...I got the same rod and love it for spinnerbaits.

I recently got a big bear rod in 7" MH and I'm really liking that one as well for spinnerbaits too.

It is hard to argue with, that XPS is a great rod for spinnerbaits. I got it for free but the guy who had it before me didn't take excellent care of it to say the least.....I may just stick with it or buy another one. Is yours the Green rod or the black XPS?

How is the Big Bear in comparison to the Bass Pro in terms of stiffness? About the same?

They aren't cheap, I noticed that.....

It's the green one.

In comparison they are pretty close,Big Bear is a tad stiffer.

I prefer a Medium Heavy Ex Fast for spinnerbaits. They're more accurate for me for pitching around docks, laydowns, and under hanging vegetation. If I am working weed lines and fan casting flats I'm using a 7-11 MH Xfast Cumara. I use both the 6-9 MH and M rods for spinnerbaits as well. I hate fishing spinnerbaits on a rod that's too soft. Drives me batty.
