Early Morning

I have just started back up fishing. Acutally never much of a bass fisherman, but a blue gill king . However, I would love to catch a bass ( I think I have caught one small one before). Anyways, I stated fishing in the early morning today (6-7:30) before work on the TN river at a fishing dock. All around me I could see large fish jumping out of the water. What is the best way to fish in the mornings? I read somewhere to use spinning baits/buzz bait is that right? I tried buzz baits (single hook), texas rig with a worm (watermelon seed), and a crankbait (natural colors). Any pointers would be great, not really sure what I am doing. Thanks!

My early morning baits are buzz baits(blk) and zara spooks frogs as well then around submurged grass it was weightless flukes twitched over holes and breaks in the weeds then killed. Mostly topwater stuff

I wouldn't be surprised since you're on a river if the large fish you are seeing jumping are carp. They tend to jump a lot all over the place. If you see splashes near cover or the shoreline or several splashes close to each other and baitfish flying then you're in the right spot. I'm with Grey Wolf that reading some of the articles would be a great start for you to get an idea how to go about catching some fish.
