Caught a single bass on a Brush Hog but absolutely kill on Baby Brush Hogs & especially Watermelon (red) Neon.

Anyone else notice this or am I one crazy Cajun…

Don’t answer the last part, I maybe be crazy but it keeps me from going insane ;)

Iv never caught anything on either but I probably have 15 packs of each I just never throw them just buy em cuz I hear about them a lot. I pretty much fish thick matted grass lines or open water in small rivers so to me they seem more like a flipping bait right at the fish but I fish from the bank and can't really see the bass I catch

I too have a lot of luck with Baby Brush Hogs. I have caught a few with the regulars, but very few. Watermelon Candy is by far my best color. The regulars are soo much bigger than the baby's, I wish they made one just slightly bigger.

I've had good results with the full-sized Brush Hog. I like to fish it both Texas rigged and Carolina rigged. It's not something that I'd recommend for numbers, but it's one of my go to baits when I'm looking for a kicker fish.

Baby Brush Hogs are killers in the creeks and rivers!

I’ve caught absolute Hawgs on Baby Brush Hogs!

Lakes, rivers, creeks, ponds, or marshes ;)

Likewise Catt, never had any luck. You'd think they'd filter out all the dinks through intimidation and catch the big girls, but it's not the case. One of those things I just gotta accept even if I don't understand it. Easier looking meal maybe?

Hey Catt have you thrown a Game Hawg yet? They're a tad heavier and very slippery with whatever Strike King soaks em in so you can pull em through cover easier than most creature baits with multiple appendages. Could be my imagination, but i think they're also a bit more durable.

Catt, I do real well on the brush hog but they seem to bite it better at night. And the baby brush hog works better in the daylite hours for me up north. But one color that I have found that is HOT is the Candy bug. it liooks like a june bug color but it will out fish the June bug hands dowm.It is more of a black grape color.

I wont comment on that. I'd be calling the kettle black. LOL

I do agree. I have some of both. The baby performs much better for me then the reg. Size and numbers.

I'll have to try the Game Hawg ;)

I am with ya Catt, Baby brush Hogs are one of my go to baits. I've caught maybe a couple that I can remember with the standard size, but on the other hand, I've slaugthered them with the babies!!

Green Pumkin has worked everywhere for me. Clear, dirty, or stained, GrnPumpkin always works.

You are one crazy Cajun Catt. ;)

For the big gals my favorite bait combination is a jig seasoned with a brush hog as trailer, don´t know why but black jig/ Castaic choice brush hog seems to be THE combination in my neck of the woods, hell, I don´t even like Castaic choice but if that´s what they like then that´s what I´ll use.

I throw the standard Brush Hog but don't remember throwing the Baby Brush Hog (I'm sure I have).

In my experience the standard 6” Brush Hog is no better or worse than any other creature bait.

I have a hunch that the calling card of the Brush Hog is that twin grub tail,

because the rest of the lure has a kind of prosthetic appearance :)

The baby brush hog in blueberry and blackberry are two of my favorite pitching baits. The full size brush hog is one of my go to carolina rigging baits. I like the green pumpkin/blue flake color on the c-rig. Not a numbers bait but I've caught some really nice fish on it.
