TerryR Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 First off, I'm not sure if this belongs here or the other fish board, so please move if in wrong spot. Anyway, I was watching WJAC news and the lady started talking about snakeheads caught in Glendale Lake. Then she started talking about bowfin and how they look similar. So I was confused as to whether they actually caught snakeheads in Glendale or not. Did anybody else see this, and if they did, please shed some light on what this report was actually saying. Thanks. EDIT: I seen the report again, it was someone who mistook a bowfin for a snakehead. They had pictures of a snakehead with Not In Glendale in big letters over top of it. It was just explaining how to tell the difference and to let a park ranger know if you catch a snakehead. Quote

Ginger Cox Dixon Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 nobody caught a snakehead in glendale.. bowfin are very common in this lake i lived near here for a few years and fished it at least once a week usually more.. bowfin are more common here than any lake in pa.. to the untrained eye they look similar.. other than the coloration and greater size you see in snakeheads.
