Well I have been waiting for a less windy day to try this rig out. Today was the day. It turned my morning of a few dinks into a good time!! I was using a Lamiglas Excel flippin stick with a Daiwa Viento, 20lb InvizX, 1/8oz Owner Beast keel weighted hook with a green pumpkin Rage Craw slathered down with Megastrike. I couldn't get a bite flippin the craw on a normal t-rig. After switching to the keel weighted hook I caught these two plus a couple smaller ones. I had to dig that big hook out of the bigger fishes mouth, and my hand fit easily in there. Don't know the weight but it was surely one of the bigger fish I have caught, 23.5 inches. I know the pictures are crap but I am alone so it is the best I can do.

I had another thread about switching to Fluoro from braid. I was fishing today in some serious timber. The invizX performed flawlessly, especially with the bigger bass, she really dug down in the junk.

Thanks for lookin

Nice bass! I caught one that was 22 1/2 or 23 inches long, can't remember don't usually measure them, and weighed 6lbs 03oz (my pb) it had the same build as yours so it’s in that ball park probably. I usually slap the Rage Craws on a jig, I've never tried a keel weight on one. I'll have to try that. What size hook was it 2/0 or 3/0 or do they come in a standard size with the 1/8th ounce hook?

The hooks are 4/0 but they are huge!!! It is an Owner Beast. It has the little cork screw deal on the end. Super wide gap but it fits nicely in a Rage Craw. I actually caught a few smaller ones too and they didn't seem to have any problems getting that big hook in their mouths. I am going again tomorrow with a friend who has an actual bass boat so will be fishing more of that lake.

Great fish Red! The keel-weighted craw is a great rig, you can't beat the presentation in shallow water or when the fish want a slow fall. Keep after them. :)

Thanks guys, I am really loving this rig. I bet your right Big O, I figure most guys are just using a standard t-rig. I am going to Ohio at the end of the week to visit my folks and brother. I will be putting the Rage Rig to the test in this part of the country as well.
