daiwa junkie Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 if anyone has used all 3, what would be the smallest diameter, and cast the best. I know there are probaly pros and cons of each, i would like to use 15 pound floroclear pline, i used some seaguar that came with a reel i got, but i got a backlash and the line got warped, or something, as i am new to florocarbon i dont know what i did, but i dont want to waste a whole spool of line , as it is expensive stuff. Is this a problem with seaguar only, or do all florocarbons do it, the line wasnt smooth, it has bad creases in it, like it got mangled, it was casting fine before the backlash,,, sorry to be such a noob. any advice would help alot. thank you in advance Quote
Bass_Fanatic Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 YoZuri Hybrid will manage the best out of your 3 choices. Im not sure what you plan on doing with this line, but if you are just looking for a managable line, then look at mono or braid. Braid has no memory whatsoever and a good mono (Suffix Seige) has very little. If you choose one of the 3 you mentioned, make sure you get Line and Lure and spray them all down. This will help drastically! Quote
daiwa junkie Posted June 5, 2011 Author Posted June 5, 2011 thanks for the advice, line and lure is now on my shopping list today. Quote
Super User Hammer 4 Posted June 5, 2011 Super User Posted June 5, 2011 After trying most of Seagur's lines, I went back to Yozuri. Make sure you get the hybrid Ultrasoft, and yes it works great on baitcasting reels, as well as spining reels. Quote
ukbumpkin Posted June 5, 2011 Posted June 5, 2011 I used to use P-Line on most of my reels, but recently (as the last season or so) switched to Seaguar's Invizx. I really like the line and it has a thinner diameter. But as ***atic mentioned Line and Lure spray is key, I use KVD's and I think it's $9 a bottle. But I wouldn't call it the easiest of lines to manage. Quote
bman310 Posted June 5, 2011 Posted June 5, 2011 I've been using the YoZuri Hyb 8 lb for the last couple months on my Revo STX for throwing creatures and Senkos and really like it. I've been using the KVD conditioner since day one and don't know if its helping, but I haven't had any line issues. At times I've also been using a Seagar flouro leader which I'm liking so far too. I'm probably going to downsize my leader to 6 lb and see what happens. Brian Quote
Super User Hammer 4 Posted June 5, 2011 Super User Posted June 5, 2011 Brian, according to the Yozuri rep, the line conditioners will not penetrate the line. I used kvd on yozuri in the past, but once my supply ran out, I stopped using it, I didn't notice much difference. Re: the Invisx, and Abrasx, the yozuri has a much better breaking, and abrasion resistance.. Quote
daiwa junkie Posted June 6, 2011 Author Posted June 6, 2011 sounds like i should buy all three, now the next problem is braid for summer froggin. i see a maxed out credit card in my future. Quote

However if you want a much smoother line for a reasonable price look at Sufix 832 Performance braid. It's silk compared to Power Pro. Quote
johnD. Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 BDT has 125 yard spools of Sunline FX2 Braid for $16.99 Quote

Pretty sure that would hurt, it might even cut. Quote
