GLADES Posted June 4, 2011 Posted June 4, 2011 Check out the Nelson Racing Engines Code Red mustang video 1200 + HP twin turbo 5.4L http://www.autoblog.com/2010/11/11/shelby-builds-1000-rwhp-twin-turbo-gt500-prototype-w-video/?icid=maing|main5|4|link6|24845 Quote
tipptruck1 Posted June 4, 2011 Author Posted June 4, 2011 I think that mustang would be a waste. Mustangs have a hard enough problem hooking up with just normal hp. I heard a rumor that by 2012 or 2013 ford will ditch the live axle. I really hope that is true. Quote

The power could be better utilized in a different car. Pretty impressive for a 5.4 L though. All that aside, I love the in car sound of the engine winding out! Quote
Super User Redlinerobert Posted June 5, 2011 Super User Posted June 5, 2011 The problem with the mustang....is that it's a mustang. I'm waiting to see the new GT that Ford is developing. Quote
GLADES Posted June 5, 2011 Posted June 5, 2011 The problem with the mustang....is that it's a mustang. I'm waiting to see the new GT that Ford is developing. Mustangs are the original. All of the other "pony cars" are just facsimiles. I agree though, the mustang is a kiddy car compared to the performance of a GT. No question. It would be cool to see that code red 5.4 1200HP in a full size car or pick up truck or SUV. That would be a definite sleeper and surely put a few bow tie owners into shock. Quote
tipptruck1 Posted June 5, 2011 Author Posted June 5, 2011 I would be scared to drive the 1200hp mustang. If they put it in a truck there would be no way I would drive it. The tuck could even have posi, ladder bars, traction control, and wrinkle walls. I think it would be cool to see the code red engine in a old crown vic. Quote

The thing about the code red is the boost can be preset for each gear giving you some traction control. A truck would probably be too light on the rear axle, so a Expedition project might be a better platform to make use of all that power. Old Crown Vic...I am thinking it would run like that Crown Victoria in the 1st Men in Black movie Quote
