Super User clayton86 Posted June 2, 2011 Super User Posted June 2, 2011 Wow people just were pushing buttons today. Today was my last day of training in Ft. Drum for this years AT/PMT suposed to be recovery today. Well the first part of the day went as expected exept siting at MATES in a wind storm in a sand parkinglot for 6hrs right after making my M4 spotless but ok that's a easy fix. So we get back to our make believe FOB get rushed do a quick sensative items check by the s/n then run off to get a new id card mine expired 3 weeks ago the day I got here. So I grab my weapon head off to do my thing and there's a long line but that's fine at first how long could it take if I were to go to the armory in rochester it takes 20minutes on a bad day. Well there computors were slow today it was taking 30min to an hour per person and I was the 18th guy back so yeah do the math and this was at 1700(5pm). Some guys left due to the line I made my way up to the 3rd guy back and got yanked outa line to go to a dumb briefing. The Ssgt that pulled me told the POG's(person other than grunt) to let me and the 2 other guys from my company back inline. So we get back and what do ya know the pogs don't give us our spot back inline. So here ya got 3 angry infantrymen 1sgt and 2 specialists that have been out in the field for 2 weeks without showers or real food. Were edgy to say the least but we don't do anything but make some loud comments about a perticular pog. And a 1st lieutenant heard us and came over told this medic from peru to let us back inlineahead of him we had been there for 5 hours waiting. So the guy just nods saying ok and the lt walks away well when the next person is called what's the guy do he jumps up and wedges himself past our sgt to get into the door to go ahead of us. I thought sgt was gonna kill him sgt is like 230lbs stacked with 2 tours under his belt and this pog was like 130lbs green fresh outa basic showed no respect to Ncos and commisioned officers. So after waiting an hour 20 for that guy to finish and the station to close with out getting my new id or the other guys ids fixed. So in all that time we got nothing done and missed our chow missed our shower time slot missed the px run for goodies and now gotta clean our gear befor we go home in the morning. Well everyone else is racked out sleeping. When we shoulda been done hours ago. Sorry had to vent people make me mad especialy pogs but to those of u military on here or ex military no disrespect or hard feelings if you wernt a 11bravo making urself a pog your not all bad especialy if u like bass fishing. SDoolittle Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 First, welcome to the Army. Get used to days like that because they happen all the time. Second, I don't appreciate your use of the word "POG." I am not an Infantryman. I am a Cavalry Scout (19D) with nearly a thousand combat patrols under my belt. Let me know when you catch up, FNG. Quote
Super User J Francho Posted June 2, 2011 Super User Posted June 2, 2011 Hang in there man, I've got an open seat when you get in town. Quote
Super User SoFlaBassAddict Posted June 2, 2011 Super User Posted June 2, 2011 They don't call the Infantry "Queen of battle" for nothing. :D Kidding with you of course. It'll get better. Most prior service members have all been there. Bird Dog, there isn't any need to strut around and stick out your feathers because you've got X amount of combat patrols. Honestly, nobody cares. Be proud of what you've done, but don't go throwing it around in peoples faces. I was deployed more than my fair share of times, but you don't see me posting about how I've been where and done this or that. All that matters is that you do your job and come home safely. As far as the "POG" deal goes. Every MOS has their terms for other MOS's. Just the good natured hatred (I use the term hatred very loosely here) attitude held towards each other. Quote
Super User Fishing Rhino Posted June 2, 2011 Super User Posted June 2, 2011 I just checked the profile of you servicemen, and found out you're both males. At least your sensitivities aren't the result of PMS. 1 Quote
Super User clayton86 Posted June 2, 2011 Author Super User Posted June 2, 2011 Bird dog I even said right in my post no disrespect if u had a diffrent mos but its all cool. But I'm not a new guy to the army by any means I just hevent deployed sense iv been in its been 3 years back in febuary. I know the bs is a every day occurance here and I'm fine with it yesterday was just a long day and I felt like venting some. Quote
Super User Sam Posted June 2, 2011 Super User Posted June 2, 2011 I would have liked to read where your CO took control and got you guys through the line. Thank you for putting up with the all the stuff you have to face and for your service to our country. Most of the guys on this forum have never been in the military nor will they enjoy being in teh military so not matter what others say, you are a class above them. Be sure to check out USAA for your insurance needs. Great company. Now, to sign off with my motto when I was in Viet Nam as a company commander in a Signal Corps batallion in Quin Hon...."Call me when you get there!" Quote
Super User clayton86 Posted June 2, 2011 Author Super User Posted June 2, 2011 Our CO wasn't around we walked over our selves we get big boy rules lol. Then to top it off one of the other company's here stole our guide on last night from 3rd platoon so this morning was spent scouring the fob looking for it and stealing everyone elses and stacking them infront of our company's formation. Our motto for when called to attention is "Get some!" Quote

My comments had nothing to do with bragging. I am offended when someone complains incessantly about a couple of weeks of training and then has the nerve to comment about other MOS's as if we are lesser Soldiers. Quote

Top Posted June 5, 2011 Posted June 5, 2011 typical "crunchie" mentality... *shaking head* apparently we aren't all on the same team... tell you what if I had been there and I heard you and your two buddies talking smack about the non-infantry folks I would have kicked your butts out of the the building... put you at parade rest and kept you three there until your First Sergeant came and picked you up and then he and I had a little conversation... its called MUTUAL RESPECT young grass hopper.. get some. I would be personally embarrassed if one of my Soldiers acted like you did ... frustrated or not.. keep your Military Bearing... nuff said now move out... 2 Quote
