2 touchdown in Springfield, 1 unconfirmed in Palmer and 1 unconfirmed in Westfield. I hope the folks out there are okay. I did not hear of any deaths at this time.

Looks like the storm is weakening, thankfully.

I come from tornado ally. I can tell you I am not laughing. If you really think people are laughing your a idiot. I may not live in Kansas but I use to live in Iowa. That state is just as bad.

I once had two twisters developing on both sides of the hwy. While I was driving on it. Mind you there was no tornado watch or even a serve thunderstorm warning issued. I was listing to Metallica's for whom the bell tolls. It was to the part about look up into the sky. So I did and saw a dark green sky with funnel clouds on both sides of the HWY. I really thought that was my last few moments on earth.

Callin me an idiot eh?

Also, side note: Why the hell do people live in tornado alley? ITS CALLED TORNADO ALLEY. Seriously, you choose to live there. I don't get when I watch the news and a woman is like "Look at my house..my god i CANT BELIEVE this could happen"

Really? because I'm pretty sure you live in tornado alley and this is EXACTLY what you expected to happen. you choose to live there...

Easy Grundle, we chose to live in Taxachusetts where we have hurricanes and nor'easters. Peeps reside in areas where they think they have a better chance in life.

I can tell you this. I may have been born just down the road. But I would rather live some were else. I would be gone if I didn't have family I need to take care of. The main reason I would be gone. Its the dumb snow.

Grundle, the problem with being young is that one thinks he knows everything, but knows very little. He pontificates on things he knows nothing about ... a classic case of open mouth insert foot.

I live in the heart of Tornado Alley. Do you have any idea of what the probabilities are of my house being hit by a killer tornado? It varies depending on the "expert." It's between 1 in 500,000 and 1 in 10,000,000. Regardless of the "expert," I like those odds. I've lived in Tulsa for 23 years and I've never seen a tornado. I think I will stay here.

Take a look around. Do you see a mass exodus of people who live in Tornado Alley when Spring arrives?

When you see a person look at their demolished home saying "I can't believe this happened," sit back and consider the odds of it happening. FYI, every state in the Union has experienced tornadoes, including Alaska.

There is nowhere to run to to escape natural disasters. Down here on in the Southeast we get pounded with Hurricanes. Some get floods, some get tornadoes, some mudslides, volcanoes, ect. But, like Long Mike stated, the odds are not very high that you or me will be affected to an extreme in these issues. If 4 people die out of 50,000,000 the odds are in our favor.

We get earthquakes AND volcanoes, in addition to the occasional tornado. And yes, the freezing temps, the blistering summers, snow storms, wind, floods, mudslides, etc. But no hurricanes or severe thunderstorms.

In a nutshell - you can't "hide" from mother nature. So you can't "move" away to "safety".

Just piling on...

You're infinitely more likely to die of a lightning strike or car crash than in a tornado. No one is staying inside or swearing off driving. It's a tragedy, but it's just that, a tragedy, not something that can be controlled or fixed.

Sometimes stuff happens that sucks.
