Super User Lund Explorer Posted June 7, 2011 Super User Posted June 7, 2011 Holy Cow.... What a cheap shot! Horton got whacked all the way to Whoville! Quote
Mr QuEST Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 That was a wicked cheap shot!! Nice to see the NHL suspend him, should have been more then 4 games in my opinion. But hey, at least the Bruins offense showed up and the power play was finally working. Hopefully it carries over to tomorrow night. Quote
Super User bilgerat Posted June 7, 2011 Super User Posted June 7, 2011 I'm stunned. All of the talent Vancouver has and they resort to a beotch stunt like that ? Most of it is the NHL's fault because of their inability to consistently enforce the rules when it comes to cheap head shots. The rest lays squarely on the Canucks for putting a 5th string nobody out on the ice with one order..to lay out Horton. I'm disgusted. Quote

There's only 4 games left in the season, kind of pointless to carry it into next season. They should throw a fine on top instead. Quote
Super User 5bass Posted June 8, 2011 Super User Posted June 8, 2011 The 1st period last night was great, back and forth, lots of hitting, then after that Luongo fell asleep at the wheel thankfully. Quote
Super User Jigfishn10 Posted June 8, 2011 Super User Posted June 8, 2011 New game tonight and hopefully a best of 3 series after it. Grapes (Don) Cherry was saying how Thornton went by the Canucks bench prior to the hit and jawing at Rome and another player. I didn't see it, but I'm sure Rome couldn't wait to get out on his next shift to nail someone. Unfortunately, it was Horton and the way he did it. Quote
Super User deaknh03 Posted June 8, 2011 Super User Posted June 8, 2011 Hopefully Luongo has a soft stretch, as he is sometimes prone to do, especially after being lit up for 8 goals. I also hope the B's don't come out soft, or the refs don't crack down after the Rome hit, the B's need to play hard hitting. Quote
Super User Jigfishn10 Posted June 9, 2011 Super User Posted June 9, 2011 Gotta love it....It's a best of three! The B's chased a goalie in every series. This could be the year. Or as some of our die hard B's fan would say: "It's been 39 yeehas!" Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted June 9, 2011 Author Super User Posted June 9, 2011 These teams are in position to hoist the coveted silver chalice because of two telltale traits: they have depth and they can play the game in the open ice as well as in the trenches. Both the Canucks and the Bruins have the size to grind in the offensive zone and to defend down low in front of the net. Both have speed, which allows for quick counterattacks off turnovers in the neutral zone. As a result, the 5-on-5 hockey should be exhilaratingly hard fought. The Bruins' special teams have struggled this spring, so the longer the action remains at full and even strength, the better their chance of success. I'm going with Boston in 6 ! Oh Man - A-Jay Series tied at 2 - 2 ~ so far so good ! A-Jay Quote
GTrombly Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 I am going to game 6!!!! My father bought tickets for my brother, himself and me. I can't believe it. Quote

WanderLust Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 Hopefully its another slaughter in TD Garden... The B's need to step it up if the series heads back to Van though. Its like we're just waiting for them to lose by 1 goal. Quote

Super User Lund Explorer Posted June 14, 2011 Super User Posted June 14, 2011 I really hate to say it, but good ol' Rene Rancourt doesn't hold a candle to Karen Newman when it comes to singing the National Anthem. Go Canucks! Quote
Super User 5bass Posted June 14, 2011 Super User Posted June 14, 2011 Luongo almost made it thru half of the first period. Almost. Vancouver might have to start both goalies in net in Game 7. Go Bruins!! Quote
GTrombly Posted June 14, 2011 Posted June 14, 2011 The game was awesome, the crowd was so loud. Can't really talk today, throat is killing me. I can't wait to watch game 7! Quote

Getting drunk, being loud, and trying to mack some patriot cheerleaders. it was a good night. Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted June 14, 2011 Author Super User Posted June 14, 2011 The B's desperately Need to Transport the "Bean town MO JO" that has been so effective for them playing in the TD Garden up north and unleash it when they drop the puck for GAME 7 ! ! ! A-Jay Quote
