Olebiker Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 The first real bass lure I ever bought, way back in 1964, was an original Rapala. I still have that first one. I bet I have caught literally hundreds of fish on it. I have bought others and lost them over the years, but that first one is now in a drawer in the garage waiting for me to make a display frame for it. If I were stuck with one bait today it would be a shakey head with a black Zoom Trick Worm. Quote
SJex Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 T-Rigged Yamamoto Kreature rigged backwards with a 1/8 oz. screw-in worm weight. Quote
Quitlimpin Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 I could lose all my gear tomorrow(god forbid) and just keep my worm set-up and a T-rigged worm and still be happy! It is my number one bait all year round. Well said, sir Quote
bugman Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 It's hard to pick just one but I have to say I caught more fish on Rat-L-Traps than any other bait. I have caught fish in all seasons and conditions with a Trap. I find myself using SK Red Eye's more than the Bill Lewis Traps these days though. Quote
infiltwb Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 Cabelas Mad Tommy Toads on a gamakatsu 5/0 red wide gap worm hook. My go-to bait for most situations, second choice is a rapala f-5 bleeding pearl crank. Quote

Super User CWB Posted June 10, 2009 Super User Posted June 10, 2009 I put spinnerbait but my all-time favorite bait, based on my best day ever, is more of a hybrid spoon/spinner. Strike Kings Timber Spin. Caught five bass weighing about 22lbs on probably 20 casts one magical spring day about 15 years ago. Anyone have any they don't use? Quote
