krisjack69 Posted May 31, 2011 Posted May 31, 2011 I want to know is it a good idea to fish a finesse jig from shore since I dont have a boat. Quote
Super User Jigfishn10 Posted May 31, 2011 Super User Posted May 31, 2011 I love jig fishing from shore. My original PB prior to this year was on a jig from shore. Match up the jig to the structure or cover you're fishing in and you're G2G (good to go). Quote
River Rat316 Posted May 31, 2011 Posted May 31, 2011 Jig fishing can be very effective from shore, whether it is a swimming jig or a bottom contact jig. I personally throw finesse jigs from shore alot, I usually "slow roll" them on the bottom with a action trailer or a trailer like the swimming chunk. Otherwise if you can find pockets in the weeds that you are able to reach from shore pitch it in there and let it soak, sometimes it will take up to 5 minutes to get one to bite but it can be very effective from shore Quote
krisjack69 Posted May 31, 2011 Author Posted May 31, 2011 I just wanted to know since I have 3 jigs that I never have used.I never fished with jigs before. Quote
Ramz Posted June 1, 2011 Posted June 1, 2011 Jig from shore is my favorite lure to use from ice out until post spawn. I also don't use a boat much Quote
Ramz Posted June 1, 2011 Posted June 1, 2011 I like to use a Bitsy Bug in either Black or Blue. I would suggest a trailer like Uncle Josh's Pork Frog or I like Berkley's Chigger Craw Quote

Really? No wonder I can't catch fish on a jig, I don't have that kind of patience. I lift my line up more than that when I'm catfishing with chicken livers. Quote
