Captin Obvious Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 Ahem. Yeah. 1-1 Go Mavs! I was at BWW's for the game and we went nuts Wow what a series and what a game. Quote
OHIO Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 I was at BWW's for the game and we went nuts Wow what a series and what a game. Yeah. Can't wait till they go back to Dallas. Quote
GLADES Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 The Mavs made the plays to win at the end. Congrats to the MAV's and CAV's On to game #3 Quote
Super User South FLA Posted June 4, 2011 Author Super User Posted June 4, 2011 I knew it was going to be a battle that is why I predicted Heat in 7. What amazes me is how well the Mavs were playing the entire game and how the Heat hung around playing poorly and went ahead before the complete meltdown. If the Mave run that offense they were running at the end of the game and the Heat think they can get by with jumpers than its Mark Cuban's dream. I still think the Heat has too much talent between Lebron, Wade, and Bosh for the Mavs to stop, but they need to play lights out defense the entire game not start relaxing with a lead in the 4th. I hope the Heat can pull off one win in Dallas and bring it home for 7 games, assuming that the Mavs win two in Dallas. I would like to be entertained and the series is definitively that now after the meltdown, it was looking like a sweep. Quote
GLADES Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 A great series so far. The Mavs played pretty good at home but the Miami's Bosh was finally able to make a shot at the end. Both teams had a chance to win in every game. Quote
Super User SoFlaBassAddict Posted June 7, 2011 Super User Posted June 7, 2011 Boy, bet you all thought I forgot about this thread! Had some surgery done during the morning of game two, went to the game and basically crashed ever since. Finally back to being my normal super homer self. Hell of a comeback by the Mavs in game two. Great finish to game three. Looking forward to another tonight. If the Heat would actually play a good game, they would have stomped the Mavs into submission by now. Been a good series so far. Hope it stays that way. Would like Miami to win tonight, then lose the next game so they could win the title at home. I guess that's just me being the selfish ticket holding fan though. As long as they win it all, it really doesn't matter where they do it. Quote
OHIO Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 Great game tonight from what I've seen in the highlights. Had to work until 11 so I didn't get to watch it. Both teams are very inconsistent and that's gonna come back to bite one of them in the butt. Great series so far and I hope it goes to seven. SoFla, do you get to go to all the playoff games since your a season ticket holder? I always wondered if you had to pay more for the playoff games. Quote
Captin Obvious Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 So far this is what I'm getting from the series. Miami has a problem closing games. The Mavs have a hard time hitting shots till the fourth quarter. Miami has more talent, Mavs have more the determination. Wade a Dirk are the Superstars and everyone else is a supporting player. What a series. Quote

I agree with everything you said except for Wade being the superstar for his team. I think it's Lebron's team all the way, he is just playing differently now that he has some talent around him. Wade even said in an interview that Lebron is the leader now and it took some time for him (Wade) to adjust to that. Quote
Super User Grey Wolf Posted June 8, 2011 Super User Posted June 8, 2011 Wade is the man in Miami not LaBron. Quote
OHIO Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 Wade is the man in Miami not LaBron. I'm sure you know Wade better than himself. Quote
Super User Grey Wolf Posted June 8, 2011 Super User Posted June 8, 2011 I'm sure you know Wade better than himself. You keep drinking that cool aide . Quote
Captin Obvious Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 Wade is just being a good teammate when he said that. As a Mavs fan I have every right to hate Wade with a passion but I can't. Here is why Wade is the Superstar 1. He didn't take his talents anywhere he stayed with his team. Wade was waiting for the team to be built around him why do you think Bosh and Lebron went to the Miami instead of Wade and Bosh going to Cleveland? 2. He plays well when his team needs him. Yes the Chicago series was a little rough but they didn't need him to be great. Dirk didn't have to be Great in the LA series ether. But last night’s game was a big one and who only had 8 points? And remember how Lebron shut down Jason Terry, Well he didn't do too hot a job of that last night. Yep even Dirk with a 101 fever scored 21 points and hit the game winning shot. 3. Wade hits the big shots, no matter what. Wade and Dirk hit incredible shots all time in the clutch moments. 4. He knows when to celebrate, after the game ! Game two it was Lebron who was acting like a kid after Wade hit that three pointer. Wade was walking back to the bench not clapping or cheering. In the end physical talents only get you so far. Lebron is the most talented player in the league that is true. But from where I'm sitting this the top three players in the league are... 1.Kobe 2A.Wade 2B.Dirk And if you need any more proof. A Dallas Mavs fan just praised Wade and put him over Dirk. I give respect where respect is due and Wade is worthy of that respect. Quote
Super User SoFlaBassAddict Posted June 8, 2011 Super User Posted June 8, 2011 I'd put both Wade and Dirk over Kobe. Hell, LeBron is a better "player" than Kobe at this point. Kobe has aged very quickly. He's not old, but he's been playing in the NBA for quite a while now. He's no longer in the prime of his career. As far as tickets, I get a discount because of the tickets I hold. I'm also friends with one of the players (played ball with him for four years in school) as well as a front office member of the organization. Lets just say that I'm not paying full price. Quote
Super User 5bass Posted June 8, 2011 Super User Posted June 8, 2011 In my opinion, Wade is the superstar, at least right now in the Finals. LeBron crushed Chicago's hopes and dreams with big shot after big shot....now it seems like he just wants to watch Wade go to work. I dont blame him but he cant have another night like he had last night no matter what Wade does. LeBron has to get his head in the game or Dallas walks away with the trophy. All that said, its been a great series to watch, without a doubt. I hope it goes 7 even though I dont really 'like' either team. Heck, I dont even watch basketball until the playoffs. Quote

Super User SoFlaBassAddict Posted June 8, 2011 Super User Posted June 8, 2011 Honestly, I'd rather not say. Be assured that it's not Wade or James though. Lol Quote
Captin Obvious Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 Honestly, I'd rather not say. Be assured that it's not Wade or James though. Lol I would almost call BS on that but considering that he is a NBA player I'll take your word for it. Capt.O Quote
Captin Obvious Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 My heart can't take much more of this. Quote
OHIO Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 Once again couldn't watch the game because of work, but it seemed like Dallas played lights out. Now let's hope they can close in Miami. Quote
Captin Obvious Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 Yeah they gave up a lead in the fourth then once again closed it out. But they shot better. Quote
Super User deaknh03 Posted June 10, 2011 Super User Posted June 10, 2011 Lebron showing once again what he's made of in a big game. His new nickname should be the turtle. As I have been watching the playoffs, I have seen many Heat games, and I now believe Wade is the true superstar and leader of that team, Lebron is merely a very talented player, nothing else. 1 Quote

Super User deaknh03 Posted June 10, 2011 Super User Posted June 10, 2011 He got a triple double. What else do you want him to do? I don't care if he scores 75 points, when you have 2 points in the 4th with your star teammate hurting, and the game on the line, your a choker. (not you OHIO, Lebron). Quote
