I've been looking to add one more baitcaster to my arsenal and the bait monkey has my attention with the current Memorial Day weekend sales. At this point I've narrowed it down to a Mossyback (BCR853) or Avid (AVC70MHXF) with the intention of throwing light jigs and T-Rigs. I have the LTB Teaser rod (7 ft MF) and really like that rod, but I don't want to have two rods on deck from the same series. I do not have a Loomis BC but love my spinning drop shot rod and have heard that if I like the DS rod I'll love the Mossyback. Any recommendations??? Thanks for the help!

Go with the Avid AVC70MF for the techniques listed.

The MH XF is a broomstick.

Not saying that specific action or power is ideal but anytime a Loomis is in the price range, that choice would be simple for me.

Don't settle for anything less than the GLX model for soft plastics, unless you get a good deal on an IMX. IMX would be the absolute lowest model in the Loomis line up for soft plastics that I would reccomend.
