While shopping yesterday at the local Big Pro Store, I had the opportunity to view the upcoming Father's Day sale paper. Curado's @ $139 ... $40 off. Sounds like an excellent Father's Day gift to me.

American Bass Outlet has them like that every now and then (with bassresource coupon)..Yes thats a good deal.

I bought a citica from them and it was $99 shipped. They had excellent service. I would order from them again.

Retailers are liquidating the E series to make room for the new Curados and Chronarchs.

Yeah, I figured that's what it was. Still a nice deal though.

Well, I couldn't wait for the Father's Day special so I trekked to Academy and picked up a Curado 200 E7 on sale. This is after retiring a 20 year old Daiwa ProCaster, then buying a BPS Pro Qualifier Tournament on Friday. Looks like I'm all in now and the funds are beginning to flow from the bank account into my fishing account.

So, I fiddled with the BPS PQT all weekend and couldn't believe how smooth and well built this reel was. That is ... until I bought the Curado. Wow, is all I can say! This is one precision reel! Maybe I'm easily impressed after being out of the fishing game since the early 90's, golfing and riding motorcycles. But ... instead of polishing chrome on the bike, now I'm tinkering with these reels in amazement at the engineering in these things. A far cry from the ProCaster PS-10 I use to throw. The technology and engineering in these things is amazing.

All that's left now is to spool them up and get to the lake and try them out. I just know there is a 7 lb'er out there hiding from me.

More to come ... Hooker!
