Need Help !!

My son has a slight case of cerebral palsy, his left arm just doesn't work the way its supposed to. He can cast a country mile with his right arm but when it comes to reeling he cant hold the rod with his left hand and reel. I have been racking my brain trying to come up with something, just haven't come across anything that would work. Any Ideas would be appreciated.

Richard, can your son reel with his left hand adequately? If so you could switch him over to a bait caster. He would cast with his arm right but reel with his left by using a lefty reel.

its easy to teach your left hand to crank a reel and your right arm has the strength to fight the fish that is how i fish anyhow.

You're right but, I think most of the electric reels are for deep saltwater applications. Which leads me to an idea. Would he be able to use a saltwater rod belt to hold the butt of the rod? That way he would just need to brace the rod with his left hand and reel with his right.
