Fat-G Posted May 29, 2011 Posted May 29, 2011 Well, I guess I am holding off getting that 200e7 then! Screw the Lew's! That Chronarch would look too sweet on a Zillion rod or Cumara. Quote
Super User Sam Posted June 3, 2011 Super User Posted June 3, 2011 Hookingem, how about getting Craig to get you into ICAST and you can give us first hand reports and photos?????? Quote
Five-Alive Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 I have fished with 3 generations fo Curados and been pleased with each of them, I can't wait for the new ones to be released!! Quote
Stasher1 Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 I didn't think it was possible to make it less attractive than the Hunter Green color. I really dig the green paint (it's actually my favorite thing about the E7), but that thing in the pic is just hideous. Quote

Super User BASSclary Posted June 3, 2011 Super User Posted June 3, 2011 IDK if thats the new cumulus rod. Not saying im an expert picture analyzer, but it looks like the name of the rod doesnt end with an "s" but maybe a "n" ? Maybe it will be a step up from the Cumara but cheaper than the Cumulus. Also, I think that reel looks hideous. Quote
Fat-G Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 Word has it the Crucial and Compre line will be re-vamped with better guides and EVA split-grips. Daiwa has apparently "moved towards focusing on their salt lineup" and won't be introducing any reel in the $180-$200 price point. At this point I doubt they will for several years. Don't get your hopes up for anything new and great in the US market from Daiwa. There is supposed to be a new and improved PowerPro,too. New models in the NRX series as well. Quote

Northern Strain Posted June 4, 2011 Posted June 4, 2011 Any word on a new Citica? I noticed it was on sale also. Quote

It also looks like he is using a Cumulus spinning rod and a few CI4s. I saw the etching into the foam grip but the words threw me off. However if it's a prototype in testing they may have just threw a Cumulus foam grip on it. But the picture wasn't great quality so I guess we'll have to wait eh? Quote
Shane Procell Posted June 4, 2011 Posted June 4, 2011 I saw a Tackle Wharehouse add on FB. They are blowing out the current Curado E7's for $139. Guess there making room for the new models. Knowing Shimano, the new reels will be impressive. Quote
Super User BASSclary Posted June 4, 2011 Super User Posted June 4, 2011 I don't think Daiwa will let Shimano just swoop in and win everyones heart with newer better reels at the same price point. Especially since their less than $200 reel area has just been on par. Maybe nothing this year but I predict that Daiwa may be brewing something for the 2012 iCAST. On the New PowerPro talk - I really hope so. Power Pro is a great, sensitive strong line but it fishes like rope. So rough and loud. I think they'll come out with a 8-strand like everyone else Quote
