brushhoggin Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 Charlie Chaplin didn't speak in his movie career until the 1940's and by golly did he have something to say.... Quote

Super User Fishing Rhino Posted May 27, 2011 Super User Posted May 27, 2011 Hmmmmmm. Wasn't Chaplain mocking Hitler? Hitler sounded exactly like that in many of his speeches. Beware of wolves in sheep's clothing. Would he still get your vote? History is replete with those who decried "dictatorships" while in reality they were dictators. Quote
lynyrdsky1 Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 The Great Dictator 1940 great movie meant alot at the time and still carries a powerful message just like what was just said. Quote
oteymc Posted May 27, 2011 Posted May 27, 2011 If my history classes serve me, Chaplin had a confusing idea of politics. He hated what Hitler was doing, but was sympathetic to the communists. Quote
