I was looking into buying my first baitcaster. I was interested in the Shimano Citica E Low, and was just wondering if anyone would suggest this reel or anyone that has it any advice would be nice. Thank you.

i was directed by guys here to get the same reel...Citica E as my first baitcaster.

i picked one up on EBay NIB for $90 shipped. should be here any day...

there are some on there now for $99 shipped.

everyone seemed to agree that the Citica was the way to go... and the reviews i read on TW and BassPro were awesome..

i'm gettin' a Compre off TW by the end of the week... i'm holding out hoping for a Memorial Day sale. even if it doesn't include Shimano....i'm sure i'll be getting other stuff... B)

I own a Calais,a Chronarch, and a Curado. My son owns a citica. I think the citica is a great value.

Like I told my son, there is only one problem with the buying a Citica!

You’ll want 2 ;)

Shimano Crucial CRC-X610MH, the sensitivity will scare you!

BassmasterJG, with regard to your question on a rod to go with your Citica 200E, you will get a zillion answers. I have three Citicas 200E's and all are on BPS Carbonlite rods -- I love them. One s a 7' MH, and two are 6'6"MH. There is a big sale on them right now with $20 off. In my opinion they are great rods for the money.
