Super User CWB Posted June 4, 2009 Super User Posted June 4, 2009 Buy some and read the package. Very versatile and something the fish haven't seen before. Big-O might be able to help you out more in depth. Once you try them you will be a lifetime member of the RageTail army! Quote
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted June 4, 2009 Super User Posted June 4, 2009 I like the "Darth Vader" faced one....Not a space monkey, but you'll see. Quote

Big-O Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 Here is a link that should help you with your question about the Space Monkey......This particular Rage Tail News Site has rigging info on all of the different designs. The Space Monkey is not near as bullky as the Rage Toad and is primarily designed for subsurface use although it can be used for more finesse top swimmer as well. http://www.ragetail.com/news/space-monkey-riggin/ Hope it helps and let me know if you have other questions. Big O www.ragetail.com steve@ragetail.com i like the space monkey but just wish it was beefed up , or the rage tail toads had the front legs on them , i like to swim them in open water . i just can't seem to cast them very far , probably cause i'm using 30# power pro. I'd rate the chance a bit higher than probably. I use them on 15# Power Pro and they cast just fine. I'm also using a spinning reel, since I alternate between the monkey, lizard, craw and lobster. I also fish them on a 1/8th ounce keel weighted hook. The craw casts fine as well, and it is lighter than the monkey. The toad and shad cast well with my baitcasting gear. Quote
Scarecrow Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 I love the action of the SM, but have yet to have sucess with it. I have been fishing TRig with non pegged bullet and nothing. I will then throw on a Baby Brush Hog and start catching fish. I haven't given up on it and I am fishing both plastics the same.....I just can't get any tap taps. Quote
Speed Worm Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 I have been using the space monkey for: 1) Swimming with a 4/0 1/8 oz weighed SwimX hook. 2) Pitching it with a 3/8-1 oz tru-tungsten weight with a Peter T #3 peg. Straight shank 4/0 Owner. 3) Punching mats on a 1.5 oz tungsten. Straight shank 4/0 Owner. Hope this helps. Favorite colors: Pumpkin, Bama Bug and Double header in clear water. Junebug in stained water. Quote
Super User Big Bait Fishing Posted June 5, 2009 Super User Posted June 5, 2009 yeah , i'm gonna have to use my screw in 1/8 or 3/16 bullet weights on the space monkey , i love to slowly reel them in at night ( that's what i do with the rage tail frogs ) and im sure to get hammered !! Quote
Grangis Posted June 6, 2009 Posted June 6, 2009 wow speedworm, its never too hot to fish.....in Florida....come on now, you must be from Cuba or somethin....lol..just messin... I strongly agree with your Go Gators though.. Quote
EastTexasBassin Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 I like the spacemonkey weightless, on a t-rig, and on a c-rig. But most of all I like it on a jig. You can't fish it wrong, its a great bait. Speaking of jigs, have you tried the Lobster? Quote
