What do you guys think is the best type of oil for a small outboard? I have a 2001 mercury 3.3 OB and I want to keep it running as nice as possible. will any oil that meets the SAE standards work well, or should i get synthetic oil like Pennzoil?

Wouldn't you just use Mercury tcw3 marine oil?

I like synthetic oil also and a lot of people rave about the synthetic Pennzoil. As a general rule they lube better and burn cleaner...........Al

I like synthetic as it burns cleaner. Just make sure either way it is tcw3 rated.
