goober0311 Posted May 30, 2009 Posted May 30, 2009 I know this has been brought up before but can't find it. Is it better to store soft plastics in their own bags or in a plano type box. if ya'll store them in their bags how do you store all of them in your boats. I currently have them in zip-locks but I'm no liking it to much. any thoughts? Quote
bigtimfish Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 I use a backpack for all of my plastics. but i dont store them in my boat. they stay in the house. it gets too hot outside for me to keep them out in the boat. Quote
Super User Big Bait Fishing Posted June 3, 2009 Super User Posted June 3, 2009 i use a BROWNING fish binder , i put the original package into the binder sleeves , works excellent !! i've recently down sized from my OKEECHOBEE FATS 8 370 tackle bag to a back pack . now i carry 2 370 sized trays and the binder plus 2 5x9 terminal tackle trays for my hooks and such . but to get to the point , check out the binder i'm talking about , you'll love it ... http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_103999_100011010_100000000_100011000_100-11-10 Quote
Super User Muddy Posted June 3, 2009 Super User Posted June 3, 2009 I fish plastics, either by them selves or on jig heads way more than any other baits. I also have had both my thumbs broken and they do not work right, so those resealable bags are a pain for me. I store bulk home in the original bags. I bring 4 3700 boxes filled with me on trips, as the box snaps are easier for me to open and close. Quote
Mattlures Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 Hey Muddy I didnt know you were a former pool hustler Quote
Super User Muddy Posted June 3, 2009 Super User Posted June 3, 2009 Nah, not quite as thrilling. I was crossing a street in Brooklyn, guy in a van came through a light hit me, I had my arms out and when I landed, Fractured my arm, broke both thumbs and dislocated my shoulder, as well as a hairline fracture in my left leg! The Outdoorsman Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 I use a binder for my tubes and NetBait Paca Chunks. I put everything else in a duffle bag just because I havent bought more binders. I can find what I want pretty easily since I prepare for the lake Im going to and stick the bags of plastics I feel I would use the most on top. I still leave alot at home on the wall because I dont need all my stuff with me when I go out. I personally wouldnt put my soft plastics in a plano type box. I fear that the heat will melt them while on the water on a hot day. When Im home, I store them all on a peg board at home in the basement. Quote
Super User Grey Wolf Posted June 3, 2009 Super User Posted June 3, 2009 Keep mine in the original bags. Quote
bigfish88 Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 i store them in a browning binder, but the original bag is just as good, doesnt really matter i just like to be organized and not have 100 different bags all over the place instead of all of them in a binder. Quote
Super User fishfordollars Posted June 3, 2009 Super User Posted June 3, 2009 All my plastics hang on a peg board in my garage in the original bag. It just takes a glance to see if I need to restock. When I get ready to head out I grab the ones I want and throw them in their compartment in my boat. Quote
