Fat-G Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 I was thinking about getting one of these to catch some hawgs, but am a little weary about spendin' $20 on one lure. anyone used 'em? I am going to get the bluegill one. How much do they weigh? Could I use it on a 6'6" MH baitcaster with braid? Thanks Quote
Primus Posted June 2, 2009 Posted June 2, 2009 I have one of the heavy sink models, it has a very realistic swimming motion. I've thrown it a couple of times for a total of app. 1 hour on the water, still waiting to catch my first fish on it but it's likely I just haven't used it at the right place & time. I still remain confident it will be a productive bait based on how it looks in the water. Quote
Super User Big Bait Fishing Posted June 2, 2009 Super User Posted June 2, 2009 my advice is to go with the SPRO BBZ-1 SHAD .a little bigger profile and great swimming action . but if u want a good blue gill imitator , get a JACKALL GIRON , about the same price and let me tell you , THEY WORK !!!! BassinSoldier Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 I have 2 of them. You'll have no problem with a 6'6" rod. These baits really aren't that big so nothing special is needed. These baits do have some incredible action too! Quote
Super User KYntucky Warmouth Posted June 3, 2009 Super User Posted June 3, 2009 Great looking baits, have a 4" and a 7" monster, both in bluegill. My only complaint is the finish isn't very durable. The jackall giron looks very good as well. Stay away from the reaction strike revolution shad and gills, I have one of each and they swim on their sides any faster than a crawl. Quote
