jiggszter Posted August 2, 2011 Posted August 2, 2011 I fish the Connecticut river in Vermont often and even today, I brought in a 3lb small at like 1 in the afternoon. I have been using Texas config, 6"(ish) worms, lime green today, no joke. My other go to rig right now is a 4 inch black plastic leech with the texas set up. The leech in the last week, has got me a Small, Rock, and Large mouth bass consistently , and countless walleye (sun-up until sundown) I will say, the water is getting warmer, so get out early, or later evening, I have been a lot more productive then. good luck! NateFollmer Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 Grubs will almost always catch smallies. Don't leave home without purple, black, white or green pumpkin. Rage craws and chunks are killer (nose hook the chunks or put them on a small jig). Stickbaits rock also, if the 5 and 6 inch aren't working, cut them in half, they work just as good. Quote
B-Dozer Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 tubes tubes tubes. oh yeah, bring some tubes too. 1 Quote
Minnesota Kayak Bassn' Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 Grubs/Twister tails, my preference 4in...simply put, it's the most versital (spelling?) plastic there is. You can straight line retrieve or pop it back like a baitfish...or you can drop it down to the bottom and mimich a craw---you can do both in the same retrieve. Many other plastics work well but this has the widest use and if your travelin light...jig heads and twisters dont take up that much room. Good luck. John. Quote
