Super User Bassn Blvd Posted May 21, 2011 Super User Posted May 21, 2011 I love arguments like these. 16,000 people die of starvation every single day, mostly on Africa. That is 1 every 5 seconds and everyone is worried about American kids being to fat so hilarious how messed up this country is. I could care less what happens in Africa. Eat an elephant for crying out loud. Quote
Super User Root beer Posted May 21, 2011 Author Super User Posted May 21, 2011 My mom and grandma are type 2 diabetes. While my mawmaw is type 1 I believe. I gotta watch my back. It seems only the females in my family that has it, so I might be safe genetic wise..I hope..I still eat bad food, but I eat healthy food and exercise too. Hopefully that will be enough. I hope. lol. I hardly ever go to McDonald's, but I do get a burger at another place called Cook Out. I eat more chicken than red meat when I go out to restaurants. Quote
Super User Grey Wolf Posted May 21, 2011 Super User Posted May 21, 2011 I also am a diabetic and as stated before it's no walk in the park. Grundlelove it's good to see you admit you were out of line , takes a big man to do that. Quote

BassThumb Posted May 21, 2011 Posted May 21, 2011 The only other observation that I would like to add to this though is the fact that it is sad that some families eat fast food 7 days a week because a $1 cheeseburger and coke is cheaper to them than going grocery shopping. I see this a lot with the lower income house holds. That dollar value menu is where it's at Good point. This is way too often overlooked. But what do you do about it? Impose heavy taxes on junk food producers which forces them to raise their prices, similar to cigarette taxes? Or force the farmer's who produce healthy meats, grains, and vegetables to charge less so that more people can afford to eat healthy? 1 Quote

The people who do this are doing the best they can for their families. I can't fault them for that If you tax the food heavily, these people may not eat at all. 1 Quote
Super User Bassn Blvd Posted May 21, 2011 Super User Posted May 21, 2011 You cant do sht about it. It comes down to on little word, C O N V E N I E N T. As far as Africa goes, those people have been starving for decades, but they keep pumping out babies. How about feed them birth control. I say F the world and help those here at home. 1 Quote

jamarkwe Posted May 21, 2011 Posted May 21, 2011 It's not McDonald's fault.... It's the parents for letting their kids eat unsupervised at home. There is no structure at home anymore PERIOD. 1 Quote
