Super User .ghoti. Posted May 18, 2011 Super User Posted May 18, 2011 Yesterday morning it WAS 38 degrees. Didn't get above 60 all day. The day before was the same. Today is not much better. It has rained nearly every day. Winds have been anywhere from 15 - 30 mph. This is typical weather for mid-Illinois in early April. It is not early April; it's the middle of May. We should be enjoying the finest weather of the year right now, and we're not getting it. Al; buddy, amigo, pal; you know that global warming you invented? Well, it's time to go back to the drawing board, because, ITS' NOT WORKING!!!! Quote
ROCbass Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 Al didn't invent global warming, he just told everyone about it. You're thinking of the internet. 2 Quote
SausageFingers Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 Same kind of deal in New Hampshire right now. We had a brief period where it looked like spring might actually take hold and then it was back to the nasty stuff. Quote
CKFishin Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 The theory of global warming in it's entirety causes warming in some areas causing others to cool. Granted I beleive the earth is always changing. So they are just creating an agenda they like using global warming which is crap IMO Quote
Super User Fishing Rhino Posted May 18, 2011 Super User Posted May 18, 2011 The weather is locked into the same cloudy, windy, drizzly, fifty degree pattern it has been in for the past two weeks, except for one nice day. But, as far as I'm concerned, the weather can stay like this provided the fishing remains the same. In my favorite little honey hole, the fishing has been the best I've ever experienced, and has been consistently so for the past two weeks. In addition to my undies and blue jeans, I had to wear a tee shirt, long sleeved jersey, a Woolrich shirt, topped off with hip boots, foul weather gear and a hat, plus my pfd on top of it all. The wind howled at times, but I was warm, dry, comfortable, and catching fish from my canoe. Did I mention we also had intermittent rain showers? The weather has been perfect........................for the fish to bite. Ghoti, as far as I'm concerned, I hope your complaint falls on deaf ears. Quote
Super User Dwight Hottle Posted May 18, 2011 Super User Posted May 18, 2011 I feel your pain. It sucks over here in PA as well. Not only cold, windy & wet but the water clarity from all the blows takes days to clear. I just get in a little grove & mother nature pulls the rug out again & again & again. Quote

I understand the polar caps are melting and glaciers receding, can that happen if the weather is not warming up? .Ghoti, come to Florida, the weather is great, but we could use some rain... Quote
OHIO Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 Same here in Ohio. It's seems to be really nice when I'm working, but horrible when I'm off. Quote

Not long ago most of North America was covered by ice. It melted. They had global warming back then obviously. Quote
Super User clayton86 Posted May 18, 2011 Super User Posted May 18, 2011 New yorks the same but that's normal for buffalo we either have christmas or the 4th of july no spring or fall. scrutch Posted May 20, 2011 Posted May 20, 2011 It's the same crappy weather here too. I finally got tired of it and loaded up the boat and went to the lake. It was 45 degrees and raining with winds at 10-15mph. I had a great time! After my fingers went numb, I was fine. Quote
Nice_Bass Posted May 20, 2011 Posted May 20, 2011 I hope all us central folks are on the water today. I will be in a short two hours, all day tomorrow, all day sunday, and monday. It has been at least since monday since i have been able to fish Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted May 21, 2011 BassResource.com Administrator Posted May 21, 2011 We FINALLY broke the 70-degree mark in my neck of the woods....it's be 197 days since we last saw temps in the 70's - 3 days short of the all-time record. Quote
Super User slonezp Posted May 21, 2011 Super User Posted May 21, 2011 Time to move Glenn. I don't mind the cold or the hot. It's good for business. However, I have had it with the wind. Been a real PITA trying to control the boat. Quote

Yesterday I hit the lake in the morning & the fog was so thick I was afraid to get on plane to get where I wanted to be. The dang fog finally lifted at 4 pm. Mother nature has really been playing hardball this year. Quote
Super User Hookemdown. Posted May 21, 2011 Super User Posted May 21, 2011 Glenn, what's the weather like up there during the winter? Quote
BassThumb Posted May 21, 2011 Posted May 21, 2011 Everybody is getting a dose of the crappy weather. Major League Baseball broke the previous record for rainouts last week with 30. Quote
Clancy Wiseman Posted May 24, 2011 Posted May 24, 2011 We could sure use the rain. Lake Travis is falling rapidly. I think it may be over 20ft low at this point. Already had some days of 95+. Quote
