Veritas Vs Mojo Bass (Quantum Pt Energy 7:0:1)

So i have ordered a brand new Quantum PT Energy 7:0:1 casting reel and I am trying to make a decision weather to pair it up with a Abu Garcia Veritas or a St. Croix Mojo Bass! As of right now im pretty much leaning towards the Varitas because they are so light, Fit awesome in my hand, and just look beautiful. But the mojo bass also fits awesome in my hand, seems to have good back bone, and looks bad *** as well... So what do yall think? What do you prefer?

My experience was terrible with the Veritas. The tip snapped 2 guides from the top on a dink. That said, I've read great things about them and people seem to love them

My customer service experience with Pure Fishing was less than good.

I have two Vendettas and they've been fantastic rods - super light, strong, and comfortable to fish with. I'd buy a bunch more. The Veritas experience may have just been an anomoly but its made me a little gun shy.

I absolutely LOVE my veritas. It balances almost perfectly with a revo. In my experience, I felt that the mojo was really tip heavy.

I've got a 7' MH (706) model Veritas and I've used it with a Citica and a Revo S (7.8-8.6oz) and it is a VERY nice feeling rod with these reels. I've played with the MOJO and to me it feels like a really nice rod, from 15 years ago... If I were considering a MOJO, I'd look at the Premiere as well, more blanks to select from, made in the same factory.

I have a Veritas and I love it. Balances perfectly and Ive laid into some big fish with it and it hasnt had any durability problems.

I have a 7' MH veritas paired with a Revo SX. Love the combo. The veritas not only looks sweet, it's super light and sensitive. Mine ended up coming with a bent bottom guide and no insert though. Having my girlfriends dad fix it for me, no gripes otherwise. Now the girlfriend wants one

slap it on a carbonlite they are great rods, ive got a 7' ft medium for cranking and my brother has a 7' mh for just about everything. on sale now i think, or a pro qualifier. they are great rods too. as far as looks goes though nothing beats the veritas, i will eventually buy one myself mostly for that reason

Of those two I would go with the Mojo, you can't beat St. Croix.

I have a 76mh veritas and love it iv beat the heck outa it and its holding up quite well no issues mines paired with a revo sx 7.1 and use it for jigging and t and c rigs

I picked up a few different Veritas models the other day and was impressed. IMO Abu took a pretty big swing in the right direction with that rod. Alot better balance than the Vendetta, which I do own. I like a little higher quality rod for my most used techniques but I think I'm going to pick one of these up for another multi-purpose rod. My local Marvin's Hardware has started carrying tackle?...?...but they have them on sale for $74.95. Very good deal in my opinion.

Got a Veritas recently, ~20 bass with it so far... Its a heck of a good rod, balances nicely, and VERY sensitive. Thinking of getting another one.

I don't think you'd be disappointed with a Veritas.

I've got the 2 7' Mojos, one medium and one medium heavy. I love both of those rods and don't feel they are tip heavy like others say but maybe I'm not as sensitive to it or something. That being said, go with what feels best to you, you're the one using it. If you can take your reel to the tackleshop and put it on both rods and maybe even make a few pitches with it you can really get a feel for which one you'll like best.

i love my st croix rods have several triumphs and a mojo pitchin stick my mojo was tip heavy but put some weight on the butt and its good to go strong and sensitive i will be getting more mojos soon not to mention they just look cool

I have the 7' mojo MH spinnerbait rod with a revo SX and love it. I also have the 7'6" MH veritas with a revo stx and love that as well! Never a problem with either one. I do know some people have had problems with the 7' veritas rods breaking but that might just be a bad batch issue. I'd go with the veritas 7' M for topwater.

I can't believe all of these reports of the Veritas rods breaking. I own almost every Veritas model, and all have braid except my crankbait rod which is not a Veritas. I've yet to break anything on those rods. Yes, I fish alot, so my rods get abused. Tournament, fun fishing, or pond hopping, these rods have served me very well. I work in a tackle/Guns/Archery store, and get to see many thing that come back broken. Especially rods. A Veritas has yet to come in broken that was due to "setting a hook on a fish". Many anglers step on thier rods and never truly know it. Some might think it didnt hurt, but it truly did inside. Then they cast or set the hook, and "Crack" and its supposed to be the rods fault. Me and our Shimano rep had a very long conversation once about rods breaking, he proceeded to inform me how Shimano rods are tested for spine, tip, strength, and other thing that I cannot remember. And let me tell you, I learned something that day. Yeah, you can say thats how Shimano does it, but there has to be standard set by every major rod manufacturer. So when a "joe" or weekend anglers says that he broke the rod on a cast, or a fish, most likley it was operator error somewhere down the line before of the day of destruction. Back to the OP, I have never throwed a ST. Croix, we have them in the store and seem very nice rods,(IMO) but are heavy when compared to the Veritas.

Thanks yall! I think im going to pair it up with a Veritas! but im switching out my flipping rod for a Mojo Bass here in the next week! so getting the best of both worlds! once again thank you all!
