Super User slonezp Posted May 18, 2011 Super User Posted May 18, 2011 I've got stuff collecting dust in the garage. If I am assured it will go to kids that need it, it's theirs. Keep us posted. Quote
Super User bilgerat Posted May 18, 2011 Super User Posted May 18, 2011 ^^^^^^^^ What he said. Make an announcement when it's ready to fly. Quote
Blue Streak Posted May 19, 2011 Posted May 19, 2011 Same here, if the kids get it I have some to give up. Quote
Fishing Cowgirl Posted May 19, 2011 Posted May 19, 2011 Well spoken. I've donated clothing for kids and adults, and working on more. I can add in some kids fishing gear with no problem. I well remember the hurricanes that passed over my home 3x in less than 6 weeks,in 2004. I felt like my county had a bullseye painted on it. Quote
Super User Raider Nation Fisher Posted May 19, 2011 Super User Posted May 19, 2011 I have some stuff I can give as well. Heck cullman is only a thirty to forty five minute drive from my house in Birmingham. Let me know if i can be of assisstance in anyway. Quote
Super User Lund Explorer Posted May 19, 2011 Super User Posted May 19, 2011 In the short time he has been here, Don has posted some very thought provoking stories. This one gives us the chance to help, and I'm all for it. Keep us posted on where we need to ship everything, and I'll spend time in the garage going through the collection. Quote
kms399 Posted May 19, 2011 Posted May 19, 2011 this sounds like a great cause and I i plan to send a little care package as well, however I wonder about all the other kids affected. Is there a way to maybe set up something where other kids would be able to receive donations as well. the way it looks and with all the good folks on this and other sites the kid will end up with more gear than he could use in a life time. please post up when and where to send donations. X2! I was given a few berkley power worms when i was younger and those are what solidified bass fishing as my favorite thing of all time. I would love to pay it forward. ...touching story btw. Quote
hookingem Posted May 20, 2011 Posted May 20, 2011 Tell us where to ship! I have a few things I could send as well! Quote

BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted May 20, 2011 Author BassResource.com Administrator Posted May 20, 2011 I've been in close contact with Don on this, and we're working on the logistics. Trust me - this WILL happen. Just hang on until things are locked in. Thanks! Glenn Quote
"Lunker Hunter" Posted May 21, 2011 Posted May 21, 2011 I think this is a great idea and one that comes from the heart. I thank you for bringing me back to the reality of our neighbors lives, so often I move along the day and forget of others in times on need. Personally when tragedy like this hits I give to the Red Cross, $50, $100 what ever I can afford at the time. This is one of those times, the Red Cross http://www.redcross.org/ has on its home page a link to give directly to the flood and tornado victims. Quote
