Super User flechero Posted May 26, 2009 Super User Posted May 26, 2009 Maybe you guys could give us a smear by smear update on Megastrike usage? I know this is very different from the JJ's thread so I'll be hanging on by a thread. : (I am a megastrike user so no accusations, please.) Quote
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted May 26, 2009 Super User Posted May 26, 2009 Keith, I am accusing you of being very bored. Quote
Bobby Uhrig Posted May 26, 2009 Posted May 26, 2009 We conducted a little test a few years ago to see how many baits you could "smear" or coat with one tube of Megastrike. It was literally more than 1000 applications. If you do the math-it was less than 1/2 a cent per application. I figure its the best insurance policy in the fishing industry . Quote
Super User flechero Posted May 26, 2009 Super User Posted May 26, 2009 Bobby, I hope you know that I was only poking fun at roadwarrior, not megastrike. Wayne- not bored, just procrastinating (lots of work to do, once I find my motivation!) Quote
Super User Crestliner2008 Posted May 26, 2009 Super User Posted May 26, 2009 Thanks for the write up RW; heading to Dick's this afternoon to pick some up.Question about the new formula; will it say that on the tube/bottle? The Dick's near my house hasn't been the greatest at keeping old stuff off the shelves. Thanks. It comes in a clamshell pack so if it's not stapled shut, open one up and smell it. You'll live. It's not as bad as JJ's. Might have a slight garlic scent but should be more fishy. Don't forget about the Yamamoto stuff which should be right next to it. There could be a date code on the package or tube somewhere also. So, am to understand that if it isn't displayed in the clam-shell packaging, it's not the "new" formula? Is there a better way to tell? I'd like to try the new formula only, as I have a couple of tubes of the original already. Also, isn't Megastrike a Yamamoto product? Above it says, "Don't forgaet about the Yamamoto stuff which should be right next to it." Now I'm confused! Quote
Super User CWB Posted May 26, 2009 Super User Posted May 26, 2009 CWB, let me know how many tubes of that you get.Wouldnt mind trying one if you can part with it. Let me know I think there was a tube in your gift bag. I'll send you another with the bluegill. I'll try to get them out tomorrow. 8-) Hey Kent- You can send me some. That will make up for me sending Wayne some of the Yamamoto stuff. If you can send me a Mattlures Bluegill also, I'll be your best friend for life!!!! Quote

According to Bobby, the product labeled Yamamoto was made for use in Japan. It is more of a Crawfish scent. At the dick's by me they were right next to eachother on the display rack. Quote
Super User CWB Posted May 30, 2009 Super User Posted May 30, 2009 This thread won't seem to die. Just saw a replay of the classic on ESPN and it showed Ike rigging up a tube bait and then picking up a white tube of what I could swear was Megastrike. The camera cut away almost instantly. There was no mention of him using it in Bassmaster coverage. I'm pretty sure it was Megastrike. These guys must want to keep it a secret. Quote
Furbit Posted May 30, 2009 Posted May 30, 2009 It's my understanding that Ike was indeed using MegaStrike, however he is sponsored by another company so the reason why the tube was just white. Quote
Bobby Uhrig Posted May 30, 2009 Posted May 30, 2009 LOL Thats why its called pay to play masters Quote
