bobdogg17 Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 I have never had much luck with jig fishing. Caught a real nice LM on a KVD swim jig with a trailer, but that's about it. I was wondering what brand, model, etc of jig does everyone seem to have the most luck with?? Black/blue and green pumpkin are about the only colors i have jigs, so i'm just curious what actual model jigs everyone uses? Send links, pictures, ideas, etc! Quote

Super User CWB Posted May 28, 2009 Super User Posted May 28, 2009 There are many good jigs and I'm sure you'll get alot of answers. I like Strike Kings Premier Pro Model and Tour Grade Football. Super User 5bass Posted May 28, 2009 Super User Posted May 28, 2009 Check out knuckledownlures.com Pretty much any kind of jig you want in any color you can think of. My favorite is the Knuckle Dragger Pro football jig. Quote
bigtimfish Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 i have never had good luck with them either.i always catch a ton of grass. the weed guards on the hook are great but i catch too much grass on the line and knot. but i use a parasite wight and a tx rigged paca craw or beaver style bait that does the same thing and is more weedless. cato Posted May 28, 2009 Posted May 28, 2009 I just started using jigs recently and absolutly love them. I've been fishing with KVD swim jigs and booyah lately because I lost my favorite one over the weekend but I cant remember the brand from the local tackle shop. I'll be replacing it Friday though. I personally like anything that resembles crawfish because thats whats I've had the most strikes on. I've only used a couple of different trailer but plan of experimenting over time. You really have to watch your line though, you have probably had strikes and not realized it. Quote

Super User RoLo Posted May 28, 2009 Super User Posted May 28, 2009 Realistically, a jig is simply a delivery system, a unitized hook & sinker. You'd really need to tell us a little more about the cover you'll be fishing and the "lure" you wish to use. The choices are many and include but are not limited to: Silicone Skirts, Bucktail Hair, Marabou Feathers, Plastic Craws, Plastic Grubs, Plastic Worms, Plastic Creatures, Swimbaits, Pork Rind, Strip Bait, Live Bait ~ ~ Roger Quote
