Siebert Outdoors Posted May 16, 2011 Posted May 16, 2011 Sorry no fish pics. The shallows were muddy and I didnt see a fish the whole time I was there. It was a poor weekend weather wise. Cool water also. Here is a pic that I did take. I did get my wreck diver certification and dove inside a 747 jet. That was really cool. It was about 42 degs down there. Dark too. LOL Quote
BASS fisherman Posted May 16, 2011 Posted May 16, 2011 I wonder how many hours of dive time those guys on Hook -n- look get before they have enough usable footage? I remember when those underwater cameras started selling again a few years back. I thought it was a great idea however all the videos are so cloudy. The visability is next to nothing on the videos I have seen. Atleast you got some practice in anyway. I have never dived nor would I do this, but I heard once that if your diving in cold water, a trick to do is to pee in your suit. Sounds feasible but also sounds like something an old timer tells a newb just to watch him squirm. Quote
Super User Sam Posted May 16, 2011 Super User Posted May 16, 2011 Kool. We will wait for pics from your next dive. Thanks for letting us know how you did. Quote
dulouz Posted May 17, 2011 Posted May 17, 2011 It was about 42 degs down there. Dark too. LOL I hope you were wearing a dry suit! Quote
Super User Jigfishn10 Posted May 17, 2011 Super User Posted May 17, 2011 Very nice, glad you were still able to make the dive. Hope you get clearer and warmer water next time. Congrats on the wreck diver cert. Quote
Sfritr Posted May 17, 2011 Posted May 17, 2011 Those guys on Hook n Look do many shows on local Mi. lakes. Many Northern Mi. lakes are extremely clear, gin clear, many with 20+ ft visibility. Traverse Bay is one they have done many shows on. Also a smaller lake, Lake Avalon. I met Mr. Stricker at a seminar and he was a class act. He explained to me that they have learned so much about fishing from filming and diving during their shows. He told me that many times you may catch a fish in a particular area but what you didn't see was there were 15-20 fish there. Pretty cool Congrats Quote

I've learned alot about fish positioning/schooling/feeding just from observations. This is why I was hoping to get some pics. But I'll keep trying for you guys. I dive a drysuit so pee'ing isnt an option until I get a pee valve unless I want a wet foot. In the dive comunity there is a saying on wetsuit divers though. "There are people who pee in their wetsuit and there are the ones that lie about it. I met Mr. Stricker at a seminar and he was a class act. I was diving Tablerock after fishing a dock. I caught one fish off the dock. When I dove I had a whole school of 2-3lb KY bass around me. Probably 12 or so of them. Thanks guys. I'll keep trying for pics. Probably another dive this weekend. Quote
