fishingkidPA Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 my dad and i were fishing in NW PA on some of his favorite mountain streams. It hadnt been 20 years since he last fished it and caught only 1 or 2 native trout, most were stocked. But we went up this weekend to a remote part of the stream. I must have caught atleast 30 natives on small rapalas, roostertails, and night crawlers. It was an awesome time. I only took one pic of the biggest native of the day. It was a great time and good to know that the trout are back to living and reproducing in this stream! Quote

TerryR Posted May 18, 2011 Posted May 18, 2011 Nice fish. Catching native trout is a lot of fun, I just wish they would hit like you were saying for me. Quote
Super User RoLo Posted May 22, 2011 Super User Posted May 22, 2011 WOW, good for you A native brookie is a treasured resource. Roger Quote
CoBass Posted May 28, 2011 Posted May 28, 2011 It's funny how things vary from state to state. Our small streams are so full of brookies that in some areas there isn't even a limit on them. You can keep as many as you can carry and they will hit just about anything you throw at them. Pretty fish, nice job...CoBass Quote
fishingkidPA Posted May 29, 2011 Author Posted May 29, 2011 pa used to have alot of native streams, like alot. then all the industry, mining, etc. ruined them Quote
