Super User roadwarrior Posted May 14, 2011 Super User Posted May 14, 2011 Everyone knows about PICKWICK LAKE on the Tennessee River and how GREAT the BASS fishing is (not to mention striper, catfish, and crappie). Pickwick Lake's largest city - FLORENCE, ALABAMA - is in the running for a $25,000 prize from the World Fishing Network's ULTIMATE FISHING TOWN. Florence won the first round results for the SouthEast region and is now up against other regional winners with much larger population bases. As of May 14, there are 17 days left to vote. Go to the following website and cast your ballot: http://www.wfnfishingtown.com/town/florence-al You can vote four times a day - you'll get more info once you've voted the first time. You can vote using every email address you have. Once you've confirmed your email the first time, you don't have to do that again. But, please do CONFIRM the first time or otherwise your vote will not count. To learn more about the city of Florence, please visit http://www.florenceal.org/ . I really appreciate your help. -Kent Quote

Super User roadwarrior Posted May 15, 2011 Author Super User Posted May 15, 2011 Florence hosts a number of tournaments, both professional and club events. The money from this award will be used to build a pavillion for fishermen, specifically a permanent facility for the weigh-in and awards. Quote
Super User senile1 Posted May 16, 2011 Super User Posted May 16, 2011 Florence has my votes. Wow! We have a long way to go before we catch those at the top. Quote

RandySBreth Posted May 21, 2011 Posted May 21, 2011 Sorry RW - everyone knows it's either Kimberling City Missouri or Mountain Home Arkansas. Seriously - good luck - you guys do have it good over there. Quote
detroit1 Posted May 24, 2011 Posted May 24, 2011 No vote from me. I think it's lame to solicit votes from people throughout the world that have never fished within thousands of miles of that town. Who are you - the Mayor? Just kidding..had to bust your chops a little. later... Quote
