Alex Cirabisi Posted May 14, 2011 Posted May 14, 2011 ngcsports.com/moreinfo/new_bite_light/newbitelightinfo.cfm i have seen these lured advertised once or twice on a outdoor channel and i wondered if they really work the way they do? if it really catches fish the way it says would it almost conisdered "cheating" ? i understand how another fisherman could consider it to be wrong to use a lure like this as i can take out some of the skill needed, but on the other hand it is just a lure like any other but with a built in light. whats your thoughts? you think i should try it?
BASS fisherman Posted May 14, 2011 Posted May 14, 2011 I didnt even look at the link and my answer is NO! Gimmick 100% the company should be sued for false advertising.
BASS fisherman Posted May 14, 2011 Posted May 14, 2011 They prey on "suckers". They sell you promises and a high priced piece of junk. Id compare the ethics of this company to those of a thief. To me, its no different than the people who con elderly people out of money. Just another type of scam. A "legal" scam if you will. 1

Gimmick 100% the company should be sued for false advertising. thats why i was asking. $30 for 3 lures is a bit considering i can buy 3 decent rapala for under $25 if i get the right deals.
NBR Posted May 14, 2011 Posted May 14, 2011 Like most everything, "If it seems to good to be true it probably is".

You can find much better deals at Dick's, Gander Mtn, BPS, Cabela's, and dont forget about the tackle sites that sponsor this site too.
BigMoneyGrip Posted May 14, 2011 Posted May 14, 2011 I wonder what states have banned it? And I bet if you told them you were from that state, they would send you all you could buy!
Super User slonezp Posted May 14, 2011 Super User Posted May 14, 2011 " New technology uses a blinking red light to create appearance of a live, bleeding prey. Triggers a genetic strike response in fish." -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I know for a fact that ALL the injured fish I have ever caught had blinking red lights on their backsides. Is this one of those IBTL topics? If so IBTL
Super User clayton86 Posted May 14, 2011 Super User Posted May 14, 2011 Its the same thing as the laser lure isn't it by the looks of it. Iv noticed that same ad in magazines it seams like once a year sometimes longer it stays the same but the lure changes its always the same ad of being banned magic lure but the lure changes every other year. All I know is my magic lure is weightless plastics flukes imparticulary.
Super User deaknh03 Posted May 14, 2011 Super User Posted May 14, 2011 I wonder what states have banned it? And I bet if you told them you were from that state, they would send you all you could buy! The article(ad) says it's Wyoming that has banned it. Actually, Wyoming put a ban on any fishing lure that emits light to attract and catch fish, not this one in particular, and not because of this one. If your itchin to spend money on fishing tackle, and who isn't, then visit one or more of the reputable sponsors on this site, you will get better equipment, and better deals.
Super User bilgerat Posted May 14, 2011 Super User Posted May 14, 2011 The lure doesn't work unless you're wearing a magnetic ion bracelet...
laus Posted May 14, 2011 Posted May 14, 2011 Anytime I read or hear "triggers geneticstrike response" I know it's bogus. There's no such thing. Instinct, yes. That's just a phrase to try to make it sound better. The only other place I ever heard it was in for the guitar shad.
Super User Gatorbassman Posted May 14, 2011 Super User Posted May 14, 2011 This company sells every piece of crap gimmick lure out there. (Kick Tail, Walking Worm, Bright Light Lure, Pen fisherman.......) It makes money off of you but it makes most of it's money by selling your personal information to third parties. If you order any of there products you will notice an steady increase in spam, junk mail and even marketing calls. Just don't do it. 1
