Right off, it was relatively easy to rig on a weighted swimbait hook. Casts like a bullet, no question. The action on a slow retrieve is similar to a Hudd, but much smaller. Very natural swimming action. Didn't fish that long and didn't get a hit, but I think this one is a keeper! I like the fact that it gets to the bottom quickly and tends to stay there on a slow retrieve. Anyone have any experience with this soft swimbait? Live Magic Shad Quote

Make sure u bring some mend it or super glue or something, the area to hook them is pretty small so after ripping the nose a time or two u wont have any room left to hook it. But this bait is great and i have caught quite a few fish with them. Quote
catchnm Posted May 14, 2011 Posted May 14, 2011 You should try it on a 3/16 oz. sworming hornet head. The 3 1/2" works best on the fish head swimmer. Roadwarrior had convinced several membdrs here to give it a toss, no complaints. Quote
Avalonjohn44 Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 I've been fishing them for a couple of years ever since I found them pre-rigged at walmart. I like them on a swimbait hook, but still prefer them on a long jig head hook. Most days these produce for me, but sometimes the bass flat out do not want them. They are really heavily scented with garlic. I left a batch out to dry after repairing them one night and my whole kitchen smelled like them. Might have to drop some in the spahgetti pot... Quote

I also bought them first pre-rigged and had lots of success with them and have bought them unrigged ever since. Rigging them on a sworming hornet is deadly. I would highly recommend these baits. Super User roadwarrior Posted May 24, 2011 Super User Posted May 24, 2011 Your smallmouth will eat them up. The trick with the Swarming Hornet is to allow the blade to lift the lure. When you pump the rod, you simply move the lure forward. A more effective retrieve is a quick 4-5 turns of the reel, then drop on slack line. Repeat until you feel you are "out of the zone". Quote
