Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted May 14, 2011 Global Moderator Posted May 14, 2011 I don't do it a lot but everytime I do it makes me wonder why I don't do it more. By far my most successful fly has been a bonefish fly called the Bonefish Slider. It's a small, weighted fly with a stout hook that will hold a big fish. I've caught lots of bluegill, sunfish, crappie, and catfish on it also. A wooly bugger or most popping bugs will catch plenty of bass also. Quote

bass or bass ? Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 I take 8 rods on my boat, 3 bait cast, 2 fly cast, and 3 spinning and always do some fly casting on every trip. Some great bass flies can be found on the BPS web site. Look under "fly fishing" then click on "flies". A couple salt water flies that I use with great success are the Enrico Puglisi Peanut Butter in chartreuse and the Enrico Puglisi Pinfish. I also recommend the Dave Whitlock Diving Frog. Quote

That's one of my favorites. The action is incredible. Hulfmann Frogs can also be pretty good producers sometimes. Quote
Missouribassman95 Posted May 15, 2011 Posted May 15, 2011 My dad uses a fly-rod to catch bass at some farm ponds around our house. Wooly Buggers seem to tear them up! Quote
