hookingem Posted May 14, 2011 Posted May 14, 2011 I was asked by a neighbor to come out to a local boy scout meeting, and give a little seminar on fishing. I went out today to the local reservoir with the kids, and let me tell you I think I had more fun than them! Watching them snag the little bluegills and get filled with joy was downright awesome! I did make a few cast myself, and this guy ate a northstar jig with a rage chunk trailer. The kids were so excited to see a BIG fish lol. It felt downright awesome to see the young kids get HOOKED on fishing. 1 Quote

Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted May 14, 2011 Global Moderator Posted May 14, 2011 That is a lot of fun teaching kids. I've taught a few groups of little kids and it never gets old. Last time I was teaching a class at a private lake I was teaching them how to fish a wacky rig because it's so simple even little kids can catch fish. One of the little girls said she was snagged but a quick look you could tell the snag was swimming. After a back and forth fight that ended with the fish burying in the weeds and me stretching out as far as I could on the dock she had a 4.5lb bass for her first fish ever! It really is a great feeling knowing you're passing the sport on to the next generation. Quote

Big-O Posted May 14, 2011 Posted May 14, 2011 That's Great hookingem :thunbsup3: Those kids will remember it with a SMILE from now on... And people your age can often make a stronger positive impression on them than us older folks. KUDOS to your SELFLESS attitude! BTW, nice Pike too... Big O www.ragetail.com Quote
