midnighthrasher Posted May 12, 2011 Posted May 12, 2011 Anyone use these yet. Here is what I have read on another site: For all of you out there that are fans of the Shimano Cumara rods, will be glad to know that there are three new Models available that include a flipping stick. I had a chance to field test all these rods last year and am very excited they are finally ready to ship from Shimano. All three rods have the unbeatable Shimano Lifetime over the counter Warranty. The CUC77H is a 7'7" Cumara Flipping stick. This rod is super lightweight as are all the Cumaras and has plenty of back bone with a nice tip. This rod can be used as a flipping or punching rod. I really liked the way this rod fished. The MSRp on this rod is $249.99 The CUC74H is a 7'4" Cumara casting rod that was designed as a heavy jig rod for casting 3/4oz or bigger jigs and as a pitching rod as well. This guys back east have been begging for this rod for pitching into grass. If you like the Shimano Crucial CRCX72H 7'2" Heavy casting rod then you are sure to love this rod as well. This rod fishes what it was designed for very well and I loved fishing it. The MSRP on this rod is $249.99 The CUSD72ML is a 7'2" Cumara Spinning rod that was designed as a lightweight, light line finesse rod. This a great light dropshot and fishes the Jackall I Shad very well too. If you are a light line fisherman this is the rod for you. The MSRP on this rod is $239.99 If you have not fished the Cumara rods then I promise you that you are missing out. There is not another rod that is this nice at this price and to top it off it is covered by the best lifetime warranty in the business. Quote
Super User Hooligan Posted May 12, 2011 Super User Posted May 12, 2011 Might be different in Canadia, but they no longer have an over the counter warranty. It's been confirmed numerous times from various sources, including Shimano Customer service. You might get Bass Pro Shops to do an OTC, but most are not. They've been shipping in the states since around March, I think it was. I caved on the CUC74H, and have fished the Punch rod. Both are what they should be and then some. Quote

philsoreel Posted May 13, 2011 Posted May 13, 2011 Not saying those places mentioned earlier will but I just had a Cumara OTC warrantied. The retailer even told me to take a dremel and saw it in half to save on shipping. No problem at all and he sold me another for about $45 cheaper than BPS prices. Couldn't turn that down. Quote
Super User South FLA Posted May 13, 2011 Super User Posted May 13, 2011 I have a Cumara and I love it, really nice rod for the money and have broken it twice, returned to Shimano and they replaced it. Both times I broke it while high sticking. Quote
Shane Procell Posted May 14, 2011 Posted May 14, 2011 I recently got 5 Cumaras, 3 Casting and 2 Spinning. I broke one, client broke one and did not like another. Shimano replaced all 3 no questions asked. Got to love that kind of customer service. I wanted the flipping rod but it was not available when I placed my order. Guarantee I'll get one pretty soon.
