HakiSak75 Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 i have a friend that swears by cotee 6 inch super floater worms purple with white spots waky rig. i was just wondering if any one had any input on this because i don't seem to have much luck them. Quote
fishnabarrel Posted May 12, 2011 Posted May 12, 2011 I tried floating worms a few times while sight fishing with a dropshot rig, had zero luck. It seemed like the fish would look at it, I would let it float, they would laugh, and swim away Quote
HakiSak75 Posted May 12, 2011 Author Posted May 12, 2011 he tells me to do a split shot rig about a foot of line to the hook and drop it outside a weed bed Quote
fishnabarrel Posted May 12, 2011 Posted May 12, 2011 as they say, I'll try anything once. haha for sure i'll try it out, experimenting catches fish Quote
senko_77 Posted May 12, 2011 Posted May 12, 2011 I've never used the Cotee version of the floating worm, but basically any straight tailed soft plastic will work on a wacky rig. I like using the Gamakatsu Weedless Finesse Wide Gap with a Zoom Trick Worm or GYCB Swimmin Senko. Make sure your fishing it on light line (6lb/8lb) to get the most natural movement out of your bait. Elkins45 Posted November 16, 2017 Posted November 16, 2017 I’m going to wake up this old topic to see if anyone has a reliable source for the super floater worms? Fished like a soft jerk bait with a light wire hook, these things have been super bass lures for me for 40 years now. But now I’ve run out. Anybody know where I can find some purple floating worms? Super User WRB Posted November 16, 2017 Super User Posted November 16, 2017 Most hand pours use a light density plastisol the tends to float or be neutral and suspend in water. The Super Float worm co is long gone out of business. Westy worms made a super float worm, don’t know if they are still around? Roboworms, Don Iovino worms and Uptons Customs all float and have purple and available at TW. Z-Mans uses a high floatation ElaZTech soft plastic, not sure about their colors? Tom Quote

Expand Are you looking for something like this? http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Strike_King_3X_Elaztech_Finesse_Worm/descpage-SXFW.html It's made of Elaztech stuff so it float. I don't see purple color anymore but PB & J might work for you. Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted November 17, 2017 Global Moderator Posted November 17, 2017 Haven't ever used purple but I've done well with a white or merthialate floating worm by Zman. I fish them weightless around grass and cover. Quote

Super User whitwolf Posted November 18, 2017 Super User Posted November 18, 2017 I fished these for years and always have some In the tackle bag. https://www.catchoutdoors.com/blank-rwrlr/custom-floaters Quote
Elkins45 Posted November 30, 2017 Posted November 30, 2017 The Strike King and the Z Man elaz tech worms both will float a 3/0 hook. Danny Joe’s original floating worm, Roboworm, and the Gambler floating worm will not. Quote
