Eddie Berndt Posted May 9, 2011 Posted May 9, 2011 I was pre-fishing for a tournament this weekend and I was on the lake a total of 20 hrs this weekend for 1 little bass. The weather wasnt to bad for Wisconsin but i only had bites when it was cloudy, and all day sunday it was clear skies and no bass. I worked docks, logs, and boats next to shore in the river system connected to the lake, and fished in the actual lake there were reeds, weeds, and stumps and got nothing. I used pig and jig, crank baits, and rigs the only fish tht i mainly caught were lil northern pike. So any advise would be greatly greatly appreciated. Quote

One of our members, Youngbassmaster (Cade), crushes them each year about this time in Wisconsin. He always was using the Brovarney Baits Swim Jig. Anyway, go get yourself a 1/4oz jig in any shad color or bluegill color, thread a single tail grub on it, and cast it at any shallow cover and work it back like a spinnerbait. Good luck mane Quote

Slipknot6 Posted May 10, 2011 Posted May 10, 2011 Any fresh weeds will have fish, weed flats that drop off to deep water will be very very good places to start. I'd throw red eye shads and occasionally rip it when it hits the weeds. Quote
